Because it's competition, let's not overthink this. Bowles made sure Fitz was going to be the starter, he said it all of the time. It's not the same scenario. If Hack is right with Geno, I think they are more than likely to go with Hack don't you think? Considering they drafted him? Perhaps Bowles learned his lesson, we really don't know until we see.

Did you watch football last year? This guy made one of the best teams in the NFL looks like complete trash at times.

Hack was a consensus number one pick..... then he played his way out of that position...... that could happen with any of the qb's everyone is drooling over in the 2018 potential draft

    Seriously

The top QB blue chippers in 2018 are Darnold and Rosen both of whom have always been highly rated

After that there is Kayya from Miami plus another bunch of good players

That leaves Kaepernick, Cutler or Geno resign.

    Roll with Petty and Hack

Kayya is coming out this year.. I really like Darnold though. Feel like he is going to explode this year. We will have to go 0-16 - 2-14 to have a realistic shot at him.

    Spot on!

Of course I would include Mahomes in that statement, but the philosophy is the same: "A bird in hand is worth two in the bush".

First of all, how can you guarantee the Jets will "earn" a top 3 pick in 2018? In fact, given Bowles needing to win to keep his job, and his proven track record of playing even a scrub vet before allowing Petty or Hack to play almost guarantees that they'll win just enough games to get another sub-top 5 pick.

Secondly, there's no guarantee that any of the so-called "can't miss" QBs will actually succeed. So then what, "Wait 'til next year"?

Grab the best QB this year and keep doing that until you hit. It's the only way.

    0-16 ??

Bowles and KC will almost guarantee

Are we all seeing the same team??? Remember 2016???...Bowles will coach us out every potential win

Worst case win 2 games...ill live with the loses

This is probably the cheapest and healthiest thing for the franchise. But I'd prefer Geno vs Hack vs rookie

Something no one is talking about is IF we do as poor as most believe we will and IF we draft another QB early this year. There's a chance since we pulled the trigger on QB this year we could go with LT or OLB if we have a top 2 next year, you never know. Even though next year's prospects are supposed to be much improved.

Just saying drafting a QB this year presents it's own sort of issues.

What about Petty? You gonna just give up on him? I would rather go for one of the QBs in 2018, they are more to my liking then the projects in this draft. I do like Kaaya as a later round pick. however Good footwork, but awful under pressure. Might be able to coach him up.

Have a feeling Geno will be brought back in. And at this point in time, I think I can co-sign with him Hack and Petty competing.

Saves $ to be spent elsewhere and realistically a better chance at drafting a top QB prospect in 2018.
