Figured this needed its own thread before tomorrow (Thursday) happens. With the Ricky Wagner signing in Detroit, I predict that Riley Reiff will end up as our left tackle. I predict we'll get Tony Jefferson ---- ex Todd Bowles player. I predict we get Logan Ryan away from the PATS. Please no Nick Perry. The guy basically played for the 1 season to get a new contract. I'd rather roll with Jordan Jenkins & Lorenzo Mauldin (1 full season particularly for LoMaul to see what he has) w/some of the others Freddie Bishop, Josh Martin & Corey Lemonioer sprinkled in for depth. As for QB, - your guess is as good as mine.
Here's the Nick Perry article. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2017/03/jets-showing-lots-of-interest-in-nick-perry
I predict that the same arguments being made today will be made on this board in 2028, with different names and the same amount of stupidity.
Just give me Jefferson(not any longer), Mcdougald, and Reiff and I'll be happy. Minter too while we're at it.
Nah, message board stupidity will improve significantly with the rise of AI and the displacement of Jets fans being allowed to have opinions on anything other than whether the drool gets wiped from their chin. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
27 is too old and his price will be too high FA Guideline: Get the YOUNGEST AND CHEAPEST players. Will get the job done jmho
Cutler's guaranteed money is all gone by 2028 so I doubt he'll still be playing. Actually I kind of doubt he'll still be playing in 2018 but stranger things have happened.
Micah Hyde 26 years old, can play safety or corner and looks like he's just now tapped into his true talent. Should be a very cap friendly signing as he's not one of the big names out there and this makes too much sense not to. Value, over the next 2 years this needs to be the teams focus. Players like this are great value because you either end up with a solid rotational guy or someone that is just beginning to tap their potential. In this case I believe the latter.
Please. Nobody wants to play here w. a clueless owner..a conservative drone in Bowles..and a GM with no clue on how to build a culture. Read somewhere we're about $100 mill under the cap for next season...might as well add about 20 mill of the vacant cap space to that figure bc no one wants to play for a conservative defensive head coach w. no QB!
The Jets are about as unappealing to players as Cleveland is. The only way the Jets land free agents this off season is if they overpay the player. Since we cannot/will not overpay a player, expect very underwhelming FA signings. I'd rather not spend money, stock pile picks, and guarantee another top 5 spot for '18. Pray the next regime gets it right.
report says they-re gonna pay him ~$14 mil a year, too much in my opinion Very un-New England-like glad we didn't sign him for that much
