Firstly I would like to say I don't care what the media thinks or says about us. How are the media going to handle this? Jets playoff contenders or pretenders? Eric Mangini has done a fantastic job with bad team , blah blah blah.... Will this board explode? definatley:grin:
1st question :we'll become the new bandwaggon team until we lose to the texans in jets fashion next week  . either that or people will question if the pats and bears are as good as theyre made out to be. since brady's performance as of late and the bears losing to the phins and their close game with the cards 2nd question: playoff contenders, the only thing holding this team back was a vanilla defensive package. we come out aggressive and performed. in this league luck doesnt last two weeks in a row. so if we can beat the bears id say its just because everything is finally molding together under the new staff.
I don’t think they’ll use those words "Bad team" Maybe young team or rebuilding team. This game would put us over the hump this year. These kinds of games can catapult teams to the promise land, it will make guy's buy in to what the jets are doing if they haven’t by now. I couldn’t really give a sh@# what the media thinks about our team. I just want our boy's to gel and rip the NFL a new one!!
win or lose to the bears, we should be able to run the table after the bears, and then afc east champs, or wild card?
With the Giants going down in flames due to injuries (again) I think the New York media is prepared to jump on the NYJ bandwagon. If the Jets beat the Bears I think we'll see the words 'legitimate Super Bowl contenders' in articles next week.
Thread title should say " When we beat the Bears"... And regardless of the outcome, we'll still be seen as pretenders. Come on now.. we just beat the Patriots, but if you listen to the ESPN crew you'd swear it was New England that beat themselves.
why does everybody keep saying we need to beat the bears to be legitimate superbowl contenders. We couldn't beat the colts, and so therefore the emphasis has shifted to the bears. Come on, win or lose, still need to finish 10-6 to make the playoffs, then we can emerge or go home.
With your logic then the Colts aren't that good because most of their games have been very close. Anyone in the NFL can lose any given Sunday no matter how good or bad they are! wow
Anyone that watched that game saw the Jets beat the crap out of the Patriots. No, it wasn't a blowout on the scoreboard but the Jets mauled the Pats.
If the Bears lose, they will lose because they play sloppy football, not because your team played great. I think the Jets are good and manage the game well but they are not a super bowl contender. wow
See, this is the kind of respect we get from everyone. We couldn't possibly honestly beat the Bears...if we win, it's because the Bears played bad? Give me a break. We gave the Colts a run for their money. We beat the Patriots fair and square, yet I'm still hearing "The Pat's beat themselves" NO respect.
too much emphasis on beating the bears. Let the bears fans cry what they want before the game starts, On paper the bears are supposed to win because they are the better team, so if we win, we shut them up, if we lose, we focus on winning the rest of our games and we beat them in the playoffs.
Well considering they are an NFC team, we would have to beat them in the Superbowl, and I've got no problems with that.
After viewing the game the last couple of days (thanks to david1023), I still see problems on the Jets. They played an inspired game vs. NE and still could have lost until the very last play was finished. The bounces are going to have to go their way vs. CHI for them to win. This is still an 8-8 or maybe 9-7 team. Playoffs this year would be fun with this bunch, but no SB. The team still needs to grow.
If you win then yes you were the better team that day. But talent wise I don't see the Jets as being a Super Bowl condender. Honestly, I do really even see the Bears as one. We have a great defense and a offense that is cold and hot. So at this point I do not see us as contender. Just being honest with yall. wow
Yea I think this board would explode if we win, but the potential melt down if we lose would be way worse. I can't really see any lives being lost with a tie though.
I don't mean to be the grammar police, but how am I supposed to take you seriously when you don't know how to spell definitely?
Feck off loser. Of course we're a contender. Not just a contender, but THE contender from our conference. This game will be a toughie. I see the Jets as stronger than the other lotfrom NY. But we'll still beat them.
