http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2016/12/alabamas_reuben_foster_emotion.html I'm concerned that this guy isn't emotionally mature enough for the NFL. I have no doubt he's a beast at his position but you have to imagine someone like this will be taking an unusual amount of cheap shots trying to set him off.
My top scenario for the Jets is a trade down and selecting him with the first pick. This guy is going to be a monster and his on the field play with Alabama showed it. He's a baller.
Might be why he left or got kicked out. He wanted to meet with teams cause he didn't perform due to injury at the combine. Being at the hospital instead of meeting teams could result in draft stock falling. Just my 2 cents.
No one else gave attitude, or was sent home, they might have not liked what was happening but accepted it as part of the process. Why couldn't Foster?
He should have been ejected from the National Championship game in the first quarter for late hits and targeting. Nothing unusual from him. That was Saturday. Foster's incident was on Friday night. Even if the same thing was happening on Friday night. There were dozens of players there, also waiting and he was the only one to physically threaten a hospital employee. Because he felt that being Ruben Foster was reason enough for him to not have to wait along with the other players. The NFL is partly to blame for this. They have league officials present to communicate with the teams so they are aware of the delay but didn't communicate that with the draftee's. It does offer teams a glimpse into his personality and what they can expect from him off the field though. Just imagine if the team that drafts him hits a rough patch how quickly he could become unhinged.
I can understand his frustration however. He's losing a shot to meet with teams cause he wasn't doing any drills. Not saying it's right, but I understand.
Foster hits like a truck. I did catch a few late hits, but I don't think he's a dirty player. Both the NFL and Foster are to blame for this so I am partially agreeing with you no doubt. He does seem to have a hot head. It hasn't affected him on the field and he hasn't had any prior big issues off the field. I wouldn't be surprised if this were some test by teams.
He is only missing the chance to interview with teams because he could not control his temper and was sent home. The dozens of other players that had to wait for their exams are all getting to meet with the teams. His agent should have prepared him for what to expect. This is not unusual for the combine. The day is unbearably long. I would be surprised if it weren't intentional. You get a more accurate analysis of a person interviewing them under duress , especially for a position where there is going to be alot of pressure on the individual.
He has some major off field issues. Gang issues and implication in a triple homicide. He wasn't charged but neither were the Pouncy twins or Hernandez for their multiple shootings in Tallahassee. Foster has had it rough, he was wounded in the back as a baby when his father shot and killed his mother while she was holding him. You wish the best for someone like that, but too often that's not the case.
Which would explain his eagerness to meet with teams. A lot of guys in those situations don't make it, but when they do they are leaders in that locker room. Foster is still a great player. Might hurt his stock however. I hope the Jets interview him.
I only watched one group of the QB drills and Trubisky looked to be the best of his group. Made all his throws, had a good 40 time. OJ Howard looked good as well. I'd like to get him if we trade back.
referral to Marshalls Psychiatrist plz This is Major Post traumatic Stress Disorder....Father shot Mom? UGH He needs help..he should worry about that.... not NFL $
The Combine is very interesting seeing those raw skills in a controlled environment But come decision time all the film and a larger sample size for example tells me OJ Howard would be my pick over Trubinsky
I think that the Jets have stronger needs at QB, RB, TE, OL, Edge, BUT if they somehow wound up with Jabril Peppers that might be a big plus. I know a lot people here don't like him, and I wouldn't take him in the 1st round, and probably would take these other positions ahead of him, but he's an intriguing player. He could play FS and excel for the Jets, as well as doing kick returns, which are two positions of need, and possibly even in other roles. He's supposedly very bright and highly motivated, and those are qualities that I don't think you should underestimate.
Cunningham is looking like the best LB during the on field drills. He is a much smoother athlete than the other players.
