If they have no interest in Fournette I would like to see a trading back scenario. I believe Fournette could be transcendent and if he's available he should be selected. Unless trading back would help us acquire a FQB, in say a deal for Cousins where trading back would soften the blow of the trade deal. Based on some of the scenarios laid out I don't think we would be receiving enough. At 6 there are a LOT of possibilities for acquiring the top rated player at their position.
I never said he was a dummy, he was smart enough to find one sucker to buy into his plan and that was the Vikings, the rest as you know is history. Because I'm a loner and I don't like hanging around people that much, working with Terry and Howie would just get on my nerves as opposed to make me feel privileged.
Thanks. If that happened, and they could grab one of the QBs with their other 2nd round pick, and then a RB and OL and a SS/CB it would be a great draft. I don;t know if they could get all those slots filled with "starters", but the draft seems deep enough they might.
dare to dream, howard with pick 14 watson pick 39 i know probably won't make it to there reddick pick 43 budha baker pick 70 mixon pick 106 i know, don't care, everyone gets a second chance i'm not a draft nik like some of the real knowledgeable posters in this forum so if i am off on rounds sorry.
If Fournette is gone by #6 and we could turn our #6 into getting Garett Bolles and Evan Engram, sure I'd be all for trading down.
Like you said, I don't see Watson falling to 39, but if your scenario worked out I'd be a happy Jet fan (well, as happy as one can be anyway).
I just assume Lamp would be gone and Bolles should be a better fit outside, everyone projects Lamp moving inside. Bolles looked super athletic at the combine.
They estimate Baker to run in the 4.3's. If that happens he's gonna skyrocket. I think a trade down needs to happen. I just hope we don't rip ourselves off and miss out on a really good player by forcing it. The Patriots do it every year and they replenish their talent while missing a lot of picks as well. But they hedge their bet with so many draft picks.
This does seem to be the draft to fill holes in. a trade down and move sheldon and end up with 6 or 7 picks in the first 3 rounds and the future could be bright
Mac seems to have a decent command of the draft. Nearly all of the players he's taken will at least he contributors. But this draft is a big one for him, given what he's doing with the rest of the roster. I feel comfortable with a general manager in the draft for the first time in a long time. I just hope someone teaches him how to navigate free agency, or he's learned from his mistakes.
If the Browns think we're taking the guy they want on the 6 they will give up the 12 and the 33. No idea if they have a guy they feel that strongly about but they traded back twice last year to avoid taking a QB and if they see one they want this year they'll trade up for him to square the deals.
If Watson makes it to 39 it will be because the NFL isn't sure enough that he can play to invest that value in him. If we disagree we better be right this time. GeNO at 39 Hack at 51 Another high 2nd round pick on a QB that doesn't work out and we're robbing the guy who does work out eventually.
Lol. your stance on 2nd rd qbs is well documented brad. i don't think we are qb shopping in this draft but i am a watson fan. my realistic side puts am o lineman in there
I have to admit I'm starting to feel like Tim The Enchanter describing the Rabbit of Caerbannog. "Look at the bones, man! Look at the bones!"
