I might need the rosetta stone to decipher many of joe's posts but partisan hack is not one of the things I'd call him. He brought up a solid point, this thread is a liberal circle jerk that you and I both contribute too. aint nothin wrong with that
Well, I'm not a "lib", certainly not a "rep" (wouldn't the proper opposite be "con"?) so I must be an "other" - a term so broad to be meaningless.
He knows it is. We don't need a scorekeeper. He comes in and blows his load with the 'holier-than-thou' spiel every time. To quote 45, "Sad!"
Of couse the opposite is con. But cons don't like the sound of it. Fits Trump well though, so it's lib and con from here on out.
By we, he must have been referring to himself. It's true that he never fought in Vietnam. He would've been too scared anyway.
It should come as no surprise that the downfall of our political system coincided with the Greatest Generation moved out and the Baby Boomers moved in. Politics used to be about debate and compromise. For the last 25+ years it's either Lib Left or Neo Con right. What they don't realize is they are both parties melded in a whacked out army attacking the sensible few from the left and right flanks.

Of the handful who remained, just over one-third were from the seven countries singled out by Mr. Trump’s executive order." https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/27/...region&WT.nav=opinion-c-col-right-region&_r=0 "All in all, it’s been a kind of greatest hits of his favorite, factually challenged remarks — with more likely to come in his address to Congress on Tuesday night. “Jobs are already starting to pour back in,” he yelled to the crowd in Florida. “Obamacare covers very few people,” he insisted in Maryland The small problem with these “facts” and so many more in his florid rhetoric is that they are not true. He has extolled, for example, announcements by General Motors, Ford, Fiat Chrysler and Intel to hire tens of thousands of workers in the United States instead of in Mexico. But each of these companies was already planning to make the employment moves or did them for business reasons unrelated to Mr. Trump. “All of these decisions,” said Pat Morrissey, a G.M. spokesman, “have been in the works for some time.” Then there are the Keystone and Dakota Access pipelines, which Mr. Trump contended will create as many as 42,000 jobs. That’s more than a little misleading. For one thing, the Dakota Access pipeline is nearly built. For another, the State Department calculated that Keystone would create only 3,900 direct construction jobs and a maximum of 16,000 total jobs on an annual basis. And those are just temporary jobs; the permanent job count at Keystone will be 35. The only jobs that he could legitimately claim to have preserved would be the 800 Carrier jobs in Indiana that were “saved” with the help of $7 million in state subsidies. As for the Affordable Care Act, by every estimate, more than 20 million Americans have received health insurance through it. On Friday, the Department of Defense, which is in charge of procuring the new planes, said it had no idea what the president was talking about." Ron
http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slat...ury_penthouse_to_china_influence_peddler.html "Chen, who also goes by Angela Chen, did not return multiple calls and emails requesting comment. Her company bills itself as a "boutique business relationship consultancy" for US firms seeking to do business in China. "For a select clientele," the firm says that it "facilitates the right strategic relationships with the most prominent public and private decision makers in China. ... As counselors in consummating the right relationships—quite simply—we provide access," the company's website claims. This concept barely computes, right? The idea that the president—the current president, of America—just sold someone an apartment? But it's true: Trump is the owner of Trump Park Avenue LLC, which is the seller of record in this transaction. Angela Chen, an avowed conduit of influence between United States investors and the Chinese government, just paid the president of the United States $15.8 million." Ron
So whens the market gonna correct itself it was bleeding all day today wonder what happens on Thursday
I agree with your general point but it'e been 51 years, not 25, and the Greatest Generation began the breakup when they were in their prime by passing all the Civil Rights stuff and Medicare/Medicaid in 1965. That's when the South revolted and we wound up with a Cold Civil War, which is where we're still at 2 generations later and counting.
