Bennett is the only one that sets himself apart in that group, and I wouldn't want to take on his contract. The rest are just average at this point in their careers. We have a Doug Brien bobble head and half a bag of Wheat Thins invested in a 6'5" 262lb ASJ. Having a suitable relief TE on the roster is a must, but there's no reason to not kick the tires on ASJ with a full off-season working in an offense where TE is featured under his belt. If he doesn't pan out we lose nothing, if he does we give him the contract. HE'S 24 YEARS OLD! Age of TE's on this list in descending order: 29, 28, 28, 33, 29, 29, 28, 31, 32, 26
exactly and where is the none option and Cameron still hasn't been cleared by the league concussion protocal forget him he is retiring.
Read much? I clearly stated that I couldn't add a "None" option because the forum limits the number of choices one can have in a poll.
I'm inclined toward the "None" option, but I could be sold on the idea of bringing in a savvy vet like Fasano or Davis for a year or two deal if the coaching staff thought it would help ASJ to have a mentor. I'm not a fan of that kind of thing generally, but sometimes when you have a guy who has all the physical talent in the world and just can't put it together, having a solid example for him to follow makes all the difference. I have no idea if that's applicable in ASJ's case or not.
You forgot about Luke Willson. I believe he is a UFA this offseason. I really like him hes 27 years old and does have potential. He would be relatively cheap and he is a good receiver and blocker. Pair him with ASJ and see what happens. Don't forget Morton has ties with Vernon Davis as well from their time together in San Francisco
Actually, no I didn't. I took the players listed in an article that was on the front page of the forum with the other articles. I used every choice I could and was just able to include every player they mentioned, and was unable to give choices for "None of the Above" or "Two of them" or "Other."
Would anyone like the idea of trading down into the late 1st, taking one of the top TE's in this draft and then having an additional pick in the 2nd or 3rd round? I think that could be a great way to benefit this team in 2017........
Bennett has been my top TE choice for a few years now. When he went to the Patriots, it was devastating. Please please please sign a real TE, Jets. The position has been ignored for too long.
Yes I read, but thanks for the smug response. But those are not the best options. You are missing players over the old and washed up players.
trade down to the late first and you will miss the best t.e. in the draft, and probably one of the best players in the draft
FWIW, Howard maybe drafted mid 1st round so how do you figure the Jets get him? Draft at 6 or trade up to mid first to get him??
You already answered that..I guess I can't read lol. TE at 6 would be shocking but this guy is going to be a star someone is taking him very high I see us passing tho.
Well, if you read, then why did you ask about no choice for "None"? Yet, I'm the bad guy. Unbelievable.
