My point is it's not a crippling contract. At that time in 2015, the Jets had money to spend and a secondary to improve. Signing Revis did both. No one saw him falling off a cliff in 2016. Yeah they now have $6 mil in dead money if he's cut but the team can afford to eat it this year and then they're free and clear of it next year. Yes, he should be cut now. He's not worth the money. Get some young talented guys in here, coach 'em up and hope for the best.

Don't worry. JetBlue will walk over to you say and "Good job, son. You followed the law", then hand you a lollipop.

How does that fire truck taste? Like an apple because it's red?

You think you are making a logical comparison but you are missing the huge fucking difference -- intentionally picking a fight ain't nowhere the same fucking thing as simply being annoying.

Hell, I'm not even sure there is a similarity that you are confused about. I appreciate the fact that you aren't trying to be confrontational, but you also didn't make a lick of rational sense.

By himself, drunk, and 3am downtown. Many other players in the league have never put themselves in positions such as his currently.

He is a "HOF" player visiting where he hails from. Worth MILLIONS. People recognize you, you are a celebrity. Should you walk home drunk at 3am by yourself? No.

Then proceed to have charges brought against you? Call an Uber or a taxi. You are worth millions. He has every right to be outside the bar and walk home. Is it smart? Hell no. It wouldn't be smart for a regular 30 year old. He is a professional football player.

Up until these recent events, I don't believe I've ever heard of Revis getting in trouble off the field. Unless some damming evidence comes out showing Revis was the aggressor and/or instigator I will error on the side of Revis being the victim. Bottom line, Revis deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I think people feel cheated by Revis, whether warranted or unwarranted that is everyone's own personal opinion. While at his prime, he made Jets management fight and crawl with his continuous holdouts. He then gets injured and eventually gets traded to the Bucs and subsequently to the Pats, our rivals. He wins his first SB there, further rubbing the salt in Jets fans wounds. Then he comes to the Jets plays well for 9 games or so, and then turns into a shell of his former self.

I think this past season also made a lot of people lose respect for him as he came into camp overweight, and also seemed to point to his age as an excuse far too often (Charles Woodson says Hi!).....

I'm pretty apathetic about Revis because of his play this past season, but recognize that he is one of the best CB's to ever play the game.

oh so he is a rich football player so he must do what you say is right? he isn't allowed to carry on with his life how he chooses, he isn't allowed to be somewhere that everyone else is allowed to be. I didn't realize that football players were held to a higher standard. its his fault because some drunk guys decided to be dicks and got their asses kicked. I see.

he wasn't alone he had someone with him.

You are clearly disconnected with what I am saying. Football players/celebrities are definitely held to a higher standard...

Revis was supposedly alone (last time I saw) and some guy came running to his defense. Revis is a celebrity and most likely to get WAY more attention. That even applies to a time at 3am downtown after a night of drinking. Revis has every right to walk home. But he probably should not and because he did (the way he potential handled himself as well) he is now in this position. It was a dumbass decision to walk home. That is not something a lot of smart, big name players would do.

Revis did not want to be filmed. Well now look at him with all those reporters following him. It would have been hilarious for all of those reporters to ask him why he sucked so bad last year. He would probably be in the same position that made him rage so hard the night before. Instead of waiting right outside of the bar or inside of the bar for his taxi/uber he decided to walk home.

Next time do you think Revis will walk home like this? Probably not, unless he is with a lot more people. Does it suck that he cannot walk home without getting harassed by drunk people? Absolutely. But that is the price of being a celebrity. Don't like the attention? Get a driver or stay the fuck home.

Because he did not do either he is in this position (potentially because of someone else's actions). Is that unfair and does it suck? Absolutely. However, now since he made a poor decision he's going to be all over the media, scrutinized, and hear talks about losing guaranteed money. Is all that trouble worth trying to stop some drunk kids filming you?

You're forgetting how quickly that guy came to Revis' aid, and Revis threatened to get more guys there. He obviously has "connections" in the neighborhood, and maybe is part of a fraternal organization there. Revis could have just summoned his friends if he really felt threatened, and they could have walked away together. It's all part of the macho, violent culture that they're a part of.

The bottom line for anyone with common sense is that Revis shouldn't have been on the street at that time of night in that neighborhood. Period. That's not a smart or safe move for anyone, but especially for a celebrity who will attract more attention and who has a lot more to lose.

Anything that happened is his fault and stems from his decision to be there at that time and walking or standing on a street corner. It doesn't matter what his reasons were for being there.

Besides with the way he played this past season and at his age, he needs to be home and in bed and taking better care of his body. Maybe that's why he was so slow this season and so ineffective. Maybe he stayed out late partying a lot of nights.

    Revis needs to go.

I made plenty of sense, it just doesn't fit your narrative so you deem it illogical.

Very few of us are absolving Revis of blame. The guy is an idiot and like I said earlier it takes two to tango. But the fact that you want to pin it all on Revis is ridiculous. I think it just comes down to some of you guys lean heavily on the legal system as if that were the truth. The legal system is bullshit and weak people rely on it to escape the consequences of their own actions. Nobody wants to take accountability anymore, its way easier to play the victim. Ive already said everything Ive needed to say so Im pretty much done with this one. Revis is a tool and his best days are behind him, wish we could move on but we are probably stuck with him for at least another year it seems.

The rules of logic deem it not an accurate comparison. I didn't create those rules and pointed out the differences of why it fails. That has nothing to do with my narrative.

But apparently there are bears that might agree with you. That's a high standard you hold for yourself.

Except nobody said the legal system is truth -- address what is actually being discussed. The argument is that there are laws that dictate whether actions are legal or not, and thus any discussion of whether Revis is at fault legally cannot be had without the applicable laws.

Your attempt to remove laws from a discussion of whether Revis is at fault legally is beyond fucking stupid.

Yes, football players as celebrities are held to a higher standard. So, no, he's not allowed to carry on his life in public as he chooses. This isn't even an opinion of message board posters, this is a specific ruling made by the courts. You want to be a celebrity then you forfeit and right to privacy while in public.

On what grounds are you basing your opinion when existing court ruling dispute it?

From what I understand Revis was in an ornery mood after tryouts for the Bar football league and he didn't make the cut...
