I cannot ever remember feeling this way in the off season, we have had bad years and bad things have happened but once the season is over I am usually pumped and cant wait for nest year ! Not this year not now, The Jets have sunk me to new levels of despair which I thought was impossible . A friend of mine sent me a mock draft today he knows how into this I usually am but I did not even finish reading the article , I could care less . I think it does not matter who we sign and it does not matter who we draft because the imbecile we have on the sidelines that we call coach has no clue and is in over his head ! 2018 CANT COME FAST ENOUGH !
PS Mike Mac is on borrowed time as far as I am concerned !

Give it until April when the draft rolls around. You as well as the rest of us idiots will be tuning in on April 27th at 8 PM.

I understand your feelings. I don't have any illusions or hopes for the 2018 season, but I am VERY interested in FA and the draft as usual. Why? Because life exists after 2017 (well, assuming that that moron Trump doesn't get us into a nuclear holocaust). We have some nice young talent. The decisions that Mac makes in FA and the draft this year are critically important if the Jets (and we) are to have any hope for the future.

For instance, if Mac cuts most or all of our older, more expensive vets, and uses FA to sign some younger, cheaper vets to fill some holes and improve the team's depth, it will not only make the team better, but have us in better cap shape. If he makes good selections in the draft, then those players will have 2017 to develop (in spite of Bowles, but also because I think we have some better coaches now) and be ready to contribute in a bigger fashion in 2018. I really hope we add a pass rusher. I think Kevin Greene could bring out the best in him and our current OLBs. I like what I've been reading about Morton. Even though he has little experience as an OC, he certainly has a great pedigree offensively and the coaches he's worked under and learned from. I have hopes he will tailor the offense to the players we have and will help them develop. Based on what I've read, he will hold players accountable. They will be prepared and ready to go each week. He should be capable of making adjustments, and the offense should improve if Petty, Hack or whomever can provide decent QB play.

So while we won't be going to the playoffs in 2017, our play will be up and down (unless Bowles has learned some lessons), we'll see rookie mistakes, and our record is likely to be pretty bad, there will be some reasons to watch and to have hope for the future. If Bowles hasn't learned anything and the team only wins 1-4 games, he will likely be fired, which will give us hope for the next HC. If the team plays much better than expected, then Bowles will have learned some valuable lessons and we'll have some hope that he may develop into a decent to good HC, or it will be because of Morton and/or the new players that Mac added via FA and the draft. Either way, we do have some hope for the future.

Who knows, maybe a year or two away from the Jets being an ambassador may cause Woody to lose his interest and fascination with the Jets, and he'll decide to sell them. That would give us some real hope.

I hear what you 2 guys are saying but trust me when I tell you JayBiz that " is there a chance I watch some " probably not because although what NC jets says is true and I understand that who we draft and who we sign is imortant to 2018 also , the bottom line is I actually have Zero faith in the coaching staff and Mike Mac has lost me I dont have much faith in him either so in my eyes it does not matter who they bring in because I feel we have the wrong people steering this boat and I just do not trust themnat all from top to bottom !

As much as NC gets on me for thinking draft POSITION is terribly overrated, I absolutely think the draft is THE key to breaking the SOJ way of doing things. The Jets need to make the absolute most out of their draft picks, particularly after such a long drought of real young talent.

Friends don't let friends sign free agents.

I'm glad to hear you could care less.

It would be awful if you couldn't care less.

I know how you feel. I feel pretty much the same way. These days I am only paying attenion out of sheer morbid curiosity. That's he same way I after like 4 gsmes ino yhe season. Personally, I thought Mac and Toilet should hve been fired already. But I am a Jets fan as are you. I'll stay interested to see if Mac can manage to unfuck the situation him and the HC have put his team in?

But I have no illusions, the Jets will be doing their best impression of the Cleveland Browns in 2017. The sooner Woody fires Mac and Toilet, the better.

Let's examine this premise for a minute. On a scale of one to ten, ten being the highest, how much do you care right now and how much less could you care?

It has been a while since the team was coached as poorly as it was last season.

I still think Bowles is the problem but I am glad they replaced many of the assistant coaches in an attempt to get better.

With that said I am very frustrated that we are in such a deep hole and everything seems to go right for the Patriots.

Today I was even hearing rumors of them getting as much as the third overall pick for their backup QB.

I long for the day when we are beating up on them for a change.

Look on the bright side buddy, if it's a nuclear holocaust, the bills will still have zero Super Bowl victories.

here is how look at it----> I thought I had hit rock bottom as a Jet fan after all we have gone through, that was until this year . Whether I "could care less " or lol you " couldn't care less " --->This so reminds me of Kotite years and that is saying so much ! In fact watching Bowels press conferences each week reminded me very much of Richy K and of the Giants Ray Handley ! Both those clowns would get to the mic and act as if they had no idea why the press would ask them the questions they did but I stray.I dont see a light at the end of the tunnel and Woody, and Mac and lame duck Bowels can blow smoke all they want but these 3 guys together aint the right mix--->2018 cant come fast enough.

Take a breather, get some Gatorade, then come back strong.

We're Jets fans. We need to buck up.

This is the heart of the issue. It's bad enough our team sucks, but the fact that our hated division rival, coached by a guy who could've been our coach and bailed on us day 1, is the ultimate frustration.

The Jets weren't the worst team in the NFL last year in a literal sense. That said, our relationship with the Patriots might make us the single most depressing team in the league to root for.

Everyone is fed up with the Jets bullshit to one extent or another. And to top it all off, we pushed out our head coach who, if nothing else, at least gave a fuck, and replaced him with a guy who could shut down a power plant with his lack of emotion and energy.

I feel like CBG. I'll inevitably watch when the draft roles around but I'm simply not excited for it like I've been in the past. Woody Johnson is failing this franchise and it's fans. He probably couldn't care less and we the Jets fans know it.

Lol the super bowl just passed and I'm already trying to rationalize with myself how the Jets could turn it around next year it's actually pretty sad haha

  20. I've never hated a Jets HC like I hate Bowles. The 1 resounding thing he needed to address when he became HC was giving this team an identity. He has failed miserably at that b/c he himself has no identity. He hasnt said a single meaningful thing in a PC to give us any hope or even an idea of what his vision is for this team in 3 years. His actions on gameday lend no further explanation. Odds are the guy is what he is....a hapless glorified coordinator who should stick to film study & scheming. He knows nothing about building a team, establishing a culture or fighting an undercurrent like the Patriots.

I sympathize w. the OP...and I don't feel much different. I have 0 confidence in this regime b/c they have given us absolutely no hope in 3 years time. The Patriots is just the icing on the cake. They can do no wrong...even in the face of controversy & literally the most unbearable fan base in sports.
