Letting up a bit in Bethel but still snowing. I'd say solid 6 on the ground at this point. Roads are terrible and traffic is very low.
Still snowing in the HV. got to be letting up soon. what a great storm. snow this morning was intense.
I call this a bust for Madison NJ. Maybe 5-6 inches tops. Sun is out. Snow is melting. Ariens was a monster. It has more bells and whistles than I imagined.
Think of a giraffe as an exotic biracial supermodel goat. About 8" so far, still coming down hard. And windy as fuck. And it was 45 degrees yesterday. Deplorable.
Welcome back, jaywayne. I stopped looking in this thread since you left because I don't care about weather in the tri state, still, it's good to see you posting.
I did not notice what you posted but I do see a warning issued for NORTH of 84 for Sunday Monday and it says it is trending colder so not rain but snow something to keep an eleven ? Whats up tomorrow nite ?
take a look at the initial warning that Albany put up if you can access it . Then look at the latest Nam and GFS ,,,we are getting into the game FJAYF !
I now see that the Nam shows what you are talking about for Friday Fjay,,,we shall see positive thoughts for that one and Sunday!!!!!
You didn't bury your neighbors didya? Just wait till the next big one hits. You'll really get to see the Ariens strut its stuff..!
My neighbor has one of the Craftsman ones and he was amazed with what this one did. It took care of the melted heavy stuff like nobody's business. And it comes with a small shovel to clean the snow from the chute @FJF
There are a few other snowblowers that can hang with the Ariens. Craftsman isn't one of them and I think the others cost more cash. That Ariens should be your last snowblower with proper care. All parts including the engine (Briggs & Stratton) are American made. Just remember that at the end of the season, drain the gas and then run Stabil thru it until the engine cuts off. NEVER leave gas in your snowblower over the summer. If you do, it will gum up and your blower will be useless the following winter.
Side streets this morning were terrible. You could play a hockey game on my street so leaving for work this morning was fun. Highways in Jersey RT 208, RT 4 and 17 were fine though.
A lot of that going on.roads froze before they could drain. some schools in the hudson valley closed, many on a 2 hr delay. the taconic state parkway was 1.5 lanes open both directions
