My neighbor agreed to train me before I use it. I will put in the gas tonight. Question. My main concern is the gift the snow cleaning trucks leaving by my driveway. Is this good enough to tackle that heavy stuff?
Why do you have to go to work at 5 FJF? You should sue your company if they force you to show up at work in the middle of the snow storm.
It is, but it will be a challenge. Usually you'll be looking at a 4ft wall of packed snow. Just hammer it until you get it knocked down. Be advised your machine will throw snow a very long distance so don't piss off your neighbors. I got a lot of nasty looks when I first got mine from the neighbors accross the street. Congrats on the 28" Deluxe! That thing is a beast and after about an hour or so, you'll start to feel it. Careful when you change direction too. You can break the bead on the tire and wind up with a flat so take it easy on the turn arounds. Let me know how it works out for you. PS: Lay your salt out tonite if at all possible. It will make things easier on you.

Unless it gets crazy near zero cold, salt will keep a liquid underlayer to the snow that falls. This is the result of the salt lowering the freezing point of water below 32F / 0C. Easier for the snowblower, easier to shovel too. If you don't have any salt, get your ass down to home depot or lowes before they close tonite. People have a habit of stockpiling salt. As an example, I bought 6 - 50lb bags last winter. 300lbs of salt does give one a sense of security.
bernie rayno says a real possibility of thunder snow. there will also be high winds with this storm too,i'd expect visibility to be near 0 at points during the day tomorrow, also drifting problems after the storm clears out. @Brook! , i want to be at work before the storm gets cranking.
TEMP dropped big time here it was 48 at 7 pm it is now 37 and the wind is picking up ,its almost nowcast time ! FJAYF and others we have waited since last year for this hopefully it does not disappoint the snow lovers! I am hitting the sack as I am beat but I will be up in a few hours to see how this plays out be safe all catch you guys later

Been snowing steady since about 430, we have a blizzard warning right now on Long Island. I volunteer at the local FD, so hoping it stays not loud.(Don't like to use the Q word)
Guessing about 3" in 2 hours. and still not at the peak. local guys are upping totals. hudson valley going double digits easily. Light and powdery snow. the blower is going to eat well when i get home
