What are you predicting for Central Jersey Shore...Monmouth/Ocean county border area??

Conflicting reports but the weather channel has 3-5 in overnight and 5-8 on Thursday

    8-12 sound right to you?

think it might be both. Heres my retarded theory. Temps in the 50s/60s today will leave surface warm...and as the storm kicks in, temps go down hard. So when you put the shovel or blower to it...the bottom will actually be heavy and the top light. Yeah....Im sticking with that. Have dealt with that crap too much.

Only because the snow will come down very hard early on will it defeat the warm pavements etc...still...that crap is going to be wet at the bottom.

Bottom line is I dont think it will be blower friendly unless you have a bull.

Does the above post sound like a bitter snow lover who will not be involved in the storm?

Think you might be a bit higher than that...I say start the bidding at 10 inches and go from there.

Feel free to come on up to LI and help yourself to as much snow as you can take by the shovel full.

What I NEED to know is what time this gets going, the administration at my school is known to be very reluctant to pull the plug, but I'm hoping this storm doesn't give them the opportunity to mess around. Also, when does it end? Any chance of a 4 day weekend??

Hi Jay, nice to see you.

Nam coming out as I type and it appears unless the nam is wrong that this thing is developing a little more slowly and gets going a little later I could be wrong about this,,,also it looks more north and west

    Hey Fred!
Ok..a true snow lover would set his alarm clock for the show around 3 or 4am. The fireworks will go off loud and very visible for about 6 hours. So..anyone that thinks rush hour is possible? Aint happening. For AM rush hour, this could not come in at a worse time. Schools all canceled. ETC. I would think by 10pm tonight, all cancellations will be written in stone even for the reluctant. Would think that your winter up there has been equal to mine down here will help them pull the trigger. Not like they have used up many closings.

when the heck did you get so smart throwing models at me? LOL. Im sorry CBG....thought i replied. Start time between midnight and 2am...big show from around 4am til 9 am. Then leftovers after that. I really think 90% of the snow will fall in less than 8 hours but might be wrong. Wouldnt shock me if the sun popped after noon.

Now on to your model question. More north of a trend has been the trend over the past 24 hours but honestly...didnt start checking this out til last night..so I would be guessing. I would go with the one that is higher in snow totals for central NJ. Areas in NJ might get well over a foot.

CBG....very proud of the model throwing by the way.

just passing through. Doubt I will be on for tonight..but will check to see if there is much of a change. I would lock this in right now but take the very safe media way of 8-14. Ahhhh...the good ole days...throw out a number with a 6" in between cushion and still probably fail.

NOW THAT...I DONT MISS. FJF..take over bud...all of you guys do a great great job.

    Weather Channel - 1-3 inches
Accuweather - An inch at most
    Weather Underground - 1-3 inches

Best part? No facilities guys at work this week due to contract issues so no one to shovel snow or salt sidewalks.

    Sick day incoming.

All local forecasters are in agreement for Central PA: 4-6" for Central PA down to the MD line. 6-12" for Allentown PA and points east towards NJ. (I-78/81)

Just spread 50lbs of salt and ran the Ariens for 15mins with fresh gas! Got the Armada pointed downhill. No job assignments as of tonite.. Bring it on!!

Hey Brook, put some fresh gas in your Ariens tonight and run it for a bit just to get it burned in and ready for tomorrow. Try the electric start. Its great!!
