http://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/18624770 http://es.pn/2l7WGWz I'm sure that will give a bit more love towards Izdik and his short tenure here.
Rex owned the losses every week even though everyone knew he was fucked over by Idzik......while Idzik remained quiet. so i call bullshit on your post.
Idzik really was the worst GM this team has ever seen........and we've seen some bad ones. can't wait till Pryor is gone.
People seriously under-rate what Eli Manning has meant to the OBJ phenomenon. I don't think OBJ would have had the career he has had so far with many other QB's and he certainly would not have had it with Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Look at some of the other WR's that looked great with Eli for a year or three and then turned out to be ok but not great when they parted. Plaxico Burress had his 3 of his 4 best seasons with Eli, not with Big Ben beforehand and he retired pretty quickly after the Giants were done with him - with the self-inflicted gunshot wound a big part of the picture. Steve Smith (the other Steve Smith) had a huge year as a possession receiver in 2009 catching balls from Eli and ok years on either side of that and nothing else in his career. Hakeem Nicks had two excellent years with Eli before the injuries took him down and nobody was able to get anywhere near those numbers again before Nicks premature retirement in 2015. Victor Cruz was another guy who came out of nowhere to look great with Eli slinging the ball his way. That's a lot of guys who looked pretty damn good, and better than they otherwise appeared with Eli throwing the ball. OBJ is the best of them but pass defense has been a joke the last few years and the new gloves are kind of insane also.
Ashley needs to stop already, Ozzie Newsome saw right through this guy and bypassed him for a secondaries coach. Yet no one else sees the con man that he is.
What Rex needs right now is a completely dominant overbearing personality to rescue him, either opposite him in the booth or as head coach for him to DC under for a few years. Belichik and Rex are total opposites but they both needed a huge shadow to give them some recovery time after they got blown out in a talent decline in their first job. I think Rex will regret taking the Bills job so quickly at some point. There was no upside there and lots of downside and he found the downside in just a couple of seasons. The guy who could bail Rex out in the booth is Jon Gruden. Gruden has the dark sense of humor that will go well against Rex's 400 lb puppy slobbering on the camera. The guy who could bail out Rex on the sidelines is... Jon Gruden. Looks like a marriage made in heaven to me. The question is which house are they going to live in and who is going to get the deal done?
Of all things regarding Rex when he was here it was how he handled the crash and burn when it was happening that I gained respect for him. But that statement is a lame cop out now. And I wonder how many picks were made that he had the most influence on? He cried about two offensive pics; OBJ not being taken and Stephen Hill. But he'll say fukn anything and laugh his was to the bank. Let's hear about the defensive pics now Rex...
Dont do a disservice to a great coach and man in Wade Phillips by comparing him to the slob toe sucker.
Yea what a con man,Marvin Lewis has been coach of the Bengals for 10 years with zero playoff wins with more talent the last 4 years then any Rex Jets team.Rex had 4 road playoff wins and 2 losing seasons out of 6 with Sanchez and a weak offense.Rex needs a complete team on all sides of the ball to compete at a high level but who doesnt.Lets also not forget he went 8-8 with Geno and the worst roster and GM in NFL history.
Like I said, he's a con man, here you are praising him for mediocrity and having success with a team that was built by Mangini and Tannenbaum. Placing blame on the GM, it's never Rex's fault and you have fallen in line.
You're doing the same thing Rex does...deflect. The tattoo was one thing. The Sparano hire was something else entirely. I'll never understand either one.
