Well, I bolded it. If I have to explain it more, okay. The argument made was no citizens of those countries have killed anyone on US soil. Americans have been killed in those countries. We are expanding Obama's policy and hitting the pause button for 90 to get our shit in order so they don't come here. We knew this was coming. I'll give the country 90 days. If we don't have our shit together in 90 days I'll take the issue up then.
or, and this might be a bit rational, he had been doing business with them because they aren't on the list barry o made and he is not banning Muslims worldwide. But fuck all that, time to block traffic again trump just signed a receipt at a jiffy store. amiright?
its clear why he used Obama's "list." The man is a politician and not a very good one. He wanted to ban people from every muslim country but his underlings told him he was crazy. So he decided to draw off this list so at the very least he could always blame Obama. He probably had a draft of his twitter post citing Obama all ready to go as he was drawing up his EO with a crayon.
Maybe, but what you think he intended and what was actually ordered are not the same. so are we protesting what he ordered or are we protesting what is perceived to be his intentions. because protesting perception just seems like throwing a temper tantrum because the guy is not liked.
I disagree. I think it is important for American citizens to question the intentions of their President. I also think it is important for American citizens to be concerned when their President is showing a less than willing desire to work with our other established governing bodies
http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slat...the_muslim_ban_with_his_business_in_mind.html "Among those heavily Muslim nations not directly affected by the travel ban: Turkey, where Trump has licensed his name to two luxury towers in Istanbul, as well as to a company that makes home furnishings; the United Arab Emirates, where Trump has his name on a Dubai golf resort and a luxury home development; Saudi Arabia, where the Trump Organization has several LLCs that were likely created as part of a potential hotel deal in Jeddah, the nation’s second-largest city; Egypt, where Trump has at least two companies in his portfolio that suggest he had business interests at one time; Azerbaijan, where Trump licensed his name to a hotel-condo tower that is currently under development; and Indonesia, where Trump Hotels have plans to open two properties." Ron
Questioning his intentions sounds civil and intelligent and i agree it should be done. i haven't seen either of those qualities so far though. i have seen women dressed up like vaginas, people smashing shit and blocked roadways all due to what people think is going to happen.
No, its strange that Trump is trying to hide behind Obama's foreign policy after trashing it for over a year. A cowardly act by a narcissist indeed. Anytime trump and his acolytes can ignore who the real enemy is for alternative ones from countries that never has attacked the US, that sir, is the height of cowardice and hypocrisy. Only a person with the mindset of a 5 year old would say: "Obama did it first!!".. Maybe its the cash that gave Trump his present case of damnesia. $20-50mil dollars in your pocket has a way of doing that. Trump had better get used to this. Obama and his family had to put up with all kinds of racist disrespectful bullshit for 8 years. Tiny Hands Twitler better grow some thicker skin. He's gonna need it or a new phone at some point. Enjoy the show over the next 4 years...#paybackizzabitch #weregonnastayonhisazz
So answer this, why did barack leave out Saudi Arabia on the initial list? if trump did it for the money why did barack do it? we didn't just learn today the origin of the 911 conspirators. I don't care if people stayonhisazz (can't bring myself to use hashtags, in my day it was called the pound sign) i am just trying to understand the logic to all of this. Feminist protested for rights they never lost. People calling this a muslim banned when muslims are not banned People protesting a fair election in the name of freedom. I just don't see the logic. what am i missing?
Trump’s claim that the seven countries listed in the executive order came from the Obama administration is conveniently left unexplained. A bit of background: soon after the December 2015 terror attack in San Bernadino, President Obama signed an amendment to the Visa Waiver Program, a law that allows citizens of 38 countries to travel to the United States without obtaining visas (and gives Americans reciprocal privileges in those countries). The amendment removed from the Visa Waiver Program dual nationals who were citizens of four countries (Iraq, Iran, Sudan, and Syria), or anyone who had recently traveled to those countries. The Obama administration added three more to the list (Libya, Somalia, and Yemen), bringing the total to seven. But this law did not bar anyone from coming to the United States. It only required a relatively small percentage of people to obtain a visa first. And to avoid punishing people who clearly had good reasons to travel to the relevant countries, the Obama administration used a waiver provided by Congress for certain travelers, including journalists, aid workers, and officials from international organizations like the United Nations. Bottom line: No immigration vetting system is perfect, no matter how “extreme.” President Obama often said that his highest priority was keeping Americans safe. In keeping with America’s tradition and ideals, he also worked to establish a vetting system that worked more fairly and efficiently, particularly for refugees who are, by definition, in harm’s way. President Trump should defend his approach on the merits, if he can. He should not compare it to his predecessor’s. Now about all those jobs that will magically appear thanks to Twitler: http://money.cnn.com/2017/01/30/news/economy/jobs-china-mexico-automation/index.html Those damn robots stealin good jobs and not paying taxes. Seems that AI is more of a threat to those blue collar trump supporters than Mexico and China combined.
it still doesn't answer my question of why, if it was a matter of national security and we knew the 911 hijackers came from saudi, didn't barak put them on the list?. and why was there no outcry? the same facts about saudi are relevent now as they were when obama implemented his heightened vetting. obama said these 7 countries we have to screen better because there could be threats. trump said lets pause for 90 days on these same 7 countries and go over how we screen them because they could be threats. neither mentioned saudi arabia even thought that is where the worst terrorist attack originated and yet its an outrage today but crickets 2 years ago. i am just trying to see some semblance of logic here and every time i look it seems as if the answer is "because trump".
Isn't it because what Obama did is different from what trump is doing? Trump needs to answer why SA isn't on his list.. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE X using Tapatalk
what obama did was different then what gwb did and nobody questioned with the same facts in play. so your answer is "because trump"?
I like Trump but I can agree that there are some questionable countries left off the list I also wish there was more common sense with certain green card holders that aren't a threat Hopefully there will be more clarity and common sense going forward with this...some kinks need to be worked out. Let's wait and see The protestors and liberals that only see one side are annoying as hell...I'm not a republican or conservative either. They are the reason people in the middle like myself voted Trump and they aren't helping lately.....getting in the way of normal people trying to live their lives is complete bullshit. Just go away and help somebody...plenty of better ways to use your time
Bannon had input into detaining people with green cards. http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/28/politics/donald-trump-travel-ban/ Trump backtracked after the fact, but green card holders have still been detained. So even if you give Trump the benefit of the doubt and believe he made an honest mistake, it was still a dumpster fire from the White House. If Trump were the Jets' coach making a mistake like that, we'd all be giving him hell for it.
