Hell, given the expectations in 08, I'd even add Farve to that list. But it's not like they can start a RB at the QB/WR position (though didn't Brad Smith get a few snaps?). So, I don't disagree: the Jets are all fucked at the QB position. Given the choice between the organization wasting picks trying to do something it's not been able to do, or rolling the dice on veterans, I'd rather that they do the latter. (Granted, they shouldn't stop trying to improve their QB play, is just something that they shouldn't rely upon because they haven't been able to do it yet, much less consistently.)
I'm not hoping for Williams at #6, but I disagree that taking him wouldn't make any sense. He is a similar type player to B. Marshall and Fitz has been able to throw him plenty of passes. Petty has a better arm than Fitz. If the Jets move on from B. Marshall, they may get a draft pick in return and would gain $7.5 million in cap space. Williams could catch plenty of passes in his rookie season even though his route running might not be the best, simply because of his skill in using his body to shied defenders from the ball, his excellent hands, his ability to high point the ball, and his ability in winning 50-50 catch balls. He would help a young QB a great deal.

Lol exactly. He needs to pick the best players at the positions they are weak in. Not just merely BPA. That's gotten them nowhere. I'm tired of surplus BPA with giant holes that aren't addressed. Scouting directors dont have final say on draft picks.Good GMs find great players in rounds 2-7,a fan can draft a player in round 1 and it would have a chance of working out.
A fan can also find great players in Rounds 2-7. All he has to do is look at a publicly available scouting site like Walter Football or NFL.com, which is the same way he would find a great player in Round 1. GMs are supposed to be better than scouting sites, but I'm not sure how many of them are.
What kind of fan are you ? The kid hasn't done anything to earn that name, you could at least wait until he has before calling him crapenberg, plus the fact he is extremely unlikely to be "your" QB next season anyway.

Lol, I'm not down on Hack, I would like to see him play meaningful games before I gong the guy. But your post made me laugh.
I know I'm an old sarcastic ass for a 40 year JETS fan, and really I'm not down on Hack. I hate that we blew a much much higher pick on him than we had to, and since I had no say so, all that's left is my grumblings!
