I'm not a fan. I've been watching his game film lately and it's very inconsistent, he disappeared a lot in these games I've watched and he is definitely a one trick pony.

It's cool if that one trick is dominating but it really wasn't that impressive to me. He had moments where you said "Oh, shit. How did he do that?" His get off the ball was unmatched on certain downs but it wasn't consistent at all.

Overall though it wasn't that impressive.

I will say, I wasn't strappin up myself lol. But it is perfectly normal to see college kids smokin a lil weed. I think that'd something that can be tempered. He's a first-round talent, no doubt, but no way in taking him in the first. But if he's sitting there in the second or THE THIRD? That's kind of a gift.

If it's just immaturity and a little weed that's the problem (as long as smoking the weed doesn't mean more to him than playing football does), then I wouldn't have a problem with taking him in the 2nd or 3rd round. But if there's any hint that his character is suspect, if he hangs with a bad crowd, if his work ethic isn't what it should be, or if they get any hint that he just plays football for the fame and hopefully money in the NFL, then I'd steer clear.

I think the following clarifies things on Williams, and if true, I wouldn't take him until the 6th or 7th round.

Teams Think Tim Williams Could Slip to Round 2

Alabama edge rusher Tim Williams has been one of the top senior talents in college football for the 2017 NFL Draft throughout the 2016 season. Williams was a potent pass rushing weapon for the Crimson Tide, as he totaled almost 20 sacks in two years while not even playing a full-time role. In the scouting community Williams is a consensus first-round talent, however team sources believe that Williams could easily slip to the second day of the draft. The reason for that is many failed drug tests, and some team sources have said that Williams substance abuse issues are very serious in the realm of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory.

Gregory was one of the top physical talents for the 2015 NFL Draft, but he fell to the second round because of drug problems and repeated failed tests. Sources say that Williams' issues with marijuana are comparable to Gregory. Three different team contacts all said Williams problems were similar in their severity to Gregory. In late September, Williams had an arrest for carrying a pistol without a permit. Alabama suspended him for the first half of the game against Kentucky as a result, but he was fortunate to avoid other suspensions, as sources say he failed many drug tests. That leads teams to have concerns that he will land repeated suspensions in the NFL like Gregory.

Also hurting Williams' chances of going on Thursday night is there are a number of edge rusher candidates to consider in the back half of the first round and into the second round. Players like Stanford's Solomon Thomas, Missouri's Charles Harris, Illinois' Dawuane Smoot, Michigan's Taco Charlton, Florida State's Demarcus Walker, and Wisconsin's T.J. Watt. Teams have other options to strengthen their edge rush without taking a risk on a player with serious off-the-field concerns like Williams. Numerous teams said they would not take Williams in the first round because of the suspension concern, and they would consider Williams on the second day of the draft. As a result, a lot of team sources believe Williams could slip to Round 2 like Gregory.

I learned my lesson with Gregory. I really liked Gregory and I personally think Gregory was a far better prospect.

No but hell no. Problem players is the last thing we need. We need solid, talented players without a mile of baggage behind them. He can go by the way of Johnny football-less and many others problem players.

Randy Gregory placed weed above making millions of dollars and playing football at a high level. It's not weed that's the issue, it's the fact that weed is a banned substance and these players place weed above their high paying career.
