It will cost nothing at this point. Dont see the harm in bringing the guy in to compete for a job in camp. After all he was a 1st round pick 3 years ago

No way in hell. His head is not screwed on right and in the new york market, he would get suspended or worse. Also, imagine the shit storm the team would face with the media?

I agree ...You think the Jets were the laughing stock of the NFL last year? Add Manziel and it will be 10 times worse.

I tell you one thing that really drives me nuts, is people who think that Jethro Tull is just a person in a band....

My good friend owns a high end sports club in SD. Said Johnny football has begun to start working out again there. Said He is no where's near football or society ready. Took JM to lunch and he "ate like a homeless man". Looked all frail and spaced out. Fuck football, Johnny is trying to hang on to his life.

Would make an epic Hollywood comeback story though.

Because bringing Johnny Manziel to the bright lights of Broadway would be good for anything other than tabloid headlines for 6 months until he was found dead with a needle hanging out of his arm in some hotel room in Chelsea?

Would I bring Manziel to NYC for a look-see after he totally had his shit together?

    Sure.

That'll be in a decade or so.

I would bring him in just so he can straighten Sheldon Richardson out.

If he is clean it would not hurt to bring him in for a tryout. There is no way we find someone half as good with his price tag.

Of course we could choose to only bring in boyscouts at the expense of losing foutreen games each year.

JaMarcus got tryouts 3 years after failing out of the league on that sizzup.

I'm interested to see how this NFL spring league is going to be, and see how focused some players are about coming back. If they look awful in the spring league, then it's obvious they are done. IF one of these guys show something, it's worth a tryout. Example: XFL guys that got a second chance and did fairly well - Tommy Maddox for instance (although he probably played on the worst Steelers teams of the last 40 years, he did lead them to drafting Big Ben) did fairly well for a guy being out of the league for 5 years.

If I thought signing Manziel would lose 14 games for the Jets next year I'd be banging the drum hard for him.

My nightmare right now is that Dallas offers to pick up half of Romo's salary next year in exchange for a 1st round pick in 2018. Then Romo gets hurt, the Jets go 2-14 and Dallas gets the #1 pick in next year's draft because we doubled down on a strategy that has never worked for us in the past.

Dude couldn't keep his nose clean (literally and figuratively) in Cleveland. How can you expect him to stay out of trouble in NYC if he can't in Cleveland?

Yes, and order two shots of Johnnie Walker Green Label. One for Money Manziel, and one for his new personal life coach, Broadway Joe.
