I am surprised to see no one talking about this, they are comparing him to randy gregory due to failing drug test. Supposedly he has trouble with Marijuana....I have no idea how to post the links or I would

Never has been on my radar for the Jets at #6.

I remember back in Sept he was arrested on gun charges. Bama tried to keep it hush hush.

UGH! Hadn't heard about either of those situtations. It's just as well...I didn't have that much interest in him anyway, and when he was a complete non-factor in the national championship game, that sealed the deal in my non-interest.

The combine will be huge for Williams. If he fails that drug test, he might fall to the third day of the draft.

Ill admit i was banging my hand hard for Randy Gregory about 2 years ago as our 2nd round pick because he was probably one of the better edge rush prospects to come out in the past 5 years but with the fact thats he's been suspended already so many times. Then you look at a guy like Josh Gordon who i personally think is one the better a top 10 talent at WR guys like that who need it, hopefully the NFL lessens there stance on marijuanua but until then those guys are off my radar.

I don't want this guy either. Bama players have like a 40% success rate in the NFL and I might be being generous on that number.

Except Reuben Foster, he will be a great one.

Reuben Foster will be a great player and I'd be more than happy if we got him. I know we need O/Line but that is looking thin in this draft.

Tim Williams might be there for us in round 2.

Tim Williams is probably the best pure edge rusher in the draft and the guy I really wanted at 6.....but not anymore. The guy is gonna fall, probably to the 2nd-3rd because of his off-field issues. He can be had there. I wanna grab a sure thing at 6.

I don't want him even in the 2nd or 3rd round. He was a complete non-factor in the National Championship Game. I want players who rise to the occasion in big games, not ones who disappear.

It's tricky because players can overcome the pot issues and then players can also continue to fail drug tests for it throughout their NFL careers. Tyrann Mathieu is a guy that comes to mind that overcame it rather easily and is an absolute monster in the secondary.

Still, I don't want Williams at six. It's hard to truly evaluate defensive lineman on Alabama that aren't defensive tackles like Jonathan Allen/Marcel Dareus who demand double teams and beat them.

When teams have so much talent around them it's tough to see what they'd be as the best player on a given defense.

Derek Barnett and Myles Garrett are the only edge rushers I'd target at 6.

Can't take a player off your board off of one game in college...just like you can't put a player on your board based off of one game in college. Williams has been one of the most productive pass rushers in college football for over 2 years now.

If we pass on Tim Williams in the second round of the draft (even if we already took an OLB in round one) we will regret it for a very long time.

    This class is pretty deep.

Takkarist McKinley, Charles Harris, Tim Williams, and Carl Lawson. I myself prefer McKinley and Lawson.

I didn't take him off "my board" off of just one game. It was combination of that, the drug issues and the arrest for possession of a gun. I don't want any thugs or potential discipline problems with Jets players. I want only high character types.

You may be right, but that's a chance I'm perfectly willing to take. Unless the Jets thoroughly vet him and believe there will be no issues, I don't want him. I'd rather err on the side of caution. We've seen what Rex bringing in lower-character types has resulted in with this team. When Mangini was here we only had high character types, and we had good leadership in the locker room and on the field, and we didn't have the discipline problems we do now.

I want only high character types on the Jets. No more Richardsons or Mos who skip meetings or who are late on numerous occasions.

Idk I look at it differently. You gotta give some kids a chance to grow up. Can't say ya didn't make some bad choices as a 21 year old

I remember us poking fun at the Bengals for signing a larger than average number of thugs only to see the Bengals win more games than us.

There is no substitute for superior talent. We are no where near good enough to turn our noses up at opportunities to greatly improve what we are putting on the football field each week.

This is the National Football League, not the Boy Scouts.

Sure, I made some bad choices, but nothing that would have gotten me arrested. I was always a goody two shoes when I was younger. LOL

If it's just immaturity, that's one thing. Bad character is something else entirely different.
