Isnt it technically a two year deal that nobody expects us to pick up the second year on? Your suggestion isn't too far fetched if Mac just picks up the second year.

Don't fool yourself; I had zero expectations this year and it still sucks. Looks like I was wrong; Fitz's second year automatically voids by him just being on the roster. But Mac brilliantly structured it to cost us $5 million in cap space next season. Well done management.
Bowles was not promising last year. Go back and look at the good defenses they played against and you'll see he shit the bed as a coach and repeated his mistakes in each of those games. Other than the suspended and injured Bills defense and the injured Ravens D Bowles has yet to beat a team with a remotely competent defense. He sucks as a HC plan and simple and Gailey is worse as a OC.
If the Jets sign Fitzpatrick again then it would be time for all Jet fans to cancel their season tickets. Being that I'm not local, I would also cancel my Sunday Ticket subscription.

you would think Bowles would WANT to play the young QB. If they play Petty/Hackenberg and lose it takes some heat off the HC because they are working in a young QB and that takes time. the story is that they are competitive with a young QB even though they are losing. as is he plays the vets and they still LOSE. the story is that he is a terrible HC. even Rex Ryan learned that trick and gamed the organization with it
Bowels is trash... and is trying to save his job and relationships over doing whats best for the team. he'd rather start fitz/geno in a lost season to finish closer to 6-10 or 7-9 then work with the young guys because he knows he probably wont be around long enough for that to matter. I told everyone this guyw as exposed as a coach LAST year... -didnt correct the constant fumbling (by wideouts/skill players) -horrible clock management -horrible late game decisions -no spine to ever go for the win -deep thirds alllll the time in coverage with huge cushions -did nothing to help special teams -team unprepared for big games 10-6 was a funciton of luck and the schedule.... weak schedule and faced multiple teams without their starting qb.

He's toast. I don't care how clueless Woody is. This team doesn't even have a rudder anymore. Gruden was trying to be nice by not saying Macc and Bowles are cannon fodder. But one of those guys is gone after this season, and my guess is it's Bowles.
