Whether Let's Move has accomplished anything is open for debate, but the graph is pretty much useless for evidence that it hasn't. Here are some reasons off the top of my head, but there are probably more: 1. Correlation isn't causation. There could be other reasons driving up obesity rates in recent years. For all we know, obesity rates might be higher if it wasn't for Let's Move. 2. See footnote 2. It says the p-value for youth obesity since 2003 is greater than 5%. That means you shouldn't draw any conclusions from the study. 3. We only care about what happened after 2010. From 2010 to 2014, youth obesity increased 0.3 percentage points, which is virtually nothing. Moreover, the graph doesn't show what happened between 2014 and now.
Just completely ignore what I said about them having 12 of her 16 listed accomplishments being tied to Let's Move. So 75% of her accomplishments have produced nothing, the other 25% were just fluff also. Even if the obesity rate did not increase it was already on a flat line for years prior, ergo no accomplishment.
You're saying that because the graph doesn't show a decrease in obesity rates, Let's Move hasn't worked, right? I'm saying that the graph isn't sufficient evidence to conclude Let's Move hasn't worked. For example, how do we know that if it wasn't for Let's Move, obesity rates wouldn't have significantly increased after 2010? It isn't completely implausible because smartphones became more popular around 2010, increasing kids' screentime. While I'm not saying Let's Move has worked, saying it hasn't is IMO premature.
I'm not going to get into more of useless back and forth but you are really making my point for me anyway, if there can be no conclusive proof of any positive of the program in reducing obesity rate then what exactly is Bidens basis for exclaiming M.Obama is the "Finest First Lady in history". Let's Move is supposed to be her key accomplishment and it has really done nothing, Sure it sounds good in theory but so do a lot of things that don't actually work.
From today's New York Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/14/fashion/michelle-obama-first-lady-fashion.html "Certainly Mrs. Obama’s significance as a contemporary role model goes far beyond her image, but no one understood the role of fashion, and the potential uses of that, better than the first lady."
Joe Biden, who once told wheelchair-bound Sen. Chuck Graham of Missouri to "Stand up Chuck!" . . No exaggeration.
Joe Biden is the most overrated politician since Chris Collinsworth. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
It's truly sad that there are Americans who can't distinguish fake news from real news. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...the-watergate-inquiry/?utm_term=.2b782ba334ee Ron
And in real news today, she declined the position after all the revelations about her plagiarism came out. Ron
What 'zombie' claim RON? . Where (here) did anyone say she was fired? Read closer RON: . “If I had the power to fire her, I would have fired her.” - Jeffrey Zeifman, chief counsel of the House Judiciary Committee. Jeffrey Zeifman it should be noted - a lifelong, staunch Democrat. Since Hillary wasn't a direct report to Zeitman he didn't have the juice to can her corrupt, unethical ass. Had he though, he would have thrown the unethical sow and her sorry malordorous nether crevice to the curb. No, what's truly sad is blind political partisanship causing people to feel a quixotic need to defend "her sacred honor."
Shouldn't Wash Post, CNN and BuzzFeed be banned from relying as sources? If infowars can't be trusted as a far right site, those 3 can't be trusted as proven spreaders of fake news. Fair is fair.
IMO the fact that all those sites have spread something fake is less relevant than each site's percentage of what's fake.
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/obama-commutes-sentence-of-chelsea-manning-2017-01-17 Clinton and Bergdhal pardons next?
So is that your opinion or fact? I recall your attack of infowars was due to its political views, not its factfullness. Changing the story...
It's a fact that at some point, all those sites have spread a fake story. It's my opinion that Infowars is many times worse than the other three sites at making up bullshit to support a political viewpoint. I'll attack Infowars for its extremist views and its complete disregard for honesty.
There's real opportunity in this Chelsea Manning thing. I'd be willing to support commuting the sentences of whole categories of inmates convicted of non-capital offenses if they'd be willing to have their cocks lopped off and serve reduced sentences in general population. This one shouldn't be the precedent, though. I think this all has to be worked out closer to initial sentencing.
And in other news, a Trump protester - one of the non-dunces - lights himself on fire outside Trump's hotel in Washington. I say this in all sincerity - I hope this sets a trend. Especially during drought season. I get little-girl giggly when I think about thousands of goofball, loser beatniks burning up all over the place.
