8 million? Sounds steep for a holding machine. He's pretty good overall though, so I'm happy he's going to be back.
I don't recall hearing his name all that much this year in terms of holding penalties. I thought he held is own. This looks like a good deal to me. Need a LT, center and depth.
Nice to see the FO getting to work on resigning their own. Who would have thought we'd be here after his first couple seasons, but he was solid last year. 8 million seems high, but again, free agents are getting more and more expensive every year and who would be that much better and cheaper? That leaves at least 2 OL spots solidified, maybe 3 if Shell is indeed the RT
+1. Get to work on the more important LT now to solidify the line. Winters worked out well. Good for him.
Sounds like a bit much at first but considering we got Carpenter on a a pretty good deal 4 years 19 mil at the time and Winters is still really young at 25 this isn't really bad considering JR Sweazy got 5 years 32 mil from TB last year and he's 2 years older than Winters. Point is he's homegrown and we need to keep our own, atleast those who have proven to be good players.
I don't think so necessarily. I'll be surprised if this is mind with Winters going to C eventually. Johnson may be in their plans for C also.
I'll be the first one to give him credit for doing a good job, I'm not convinced he is in the top half of guards in the league and I was down on him early in his career. I hope he continues to improve and stay a jet past this contract.
