I guess it's not only trusting your defense but knowing your Alex Smith lead offense isn't going 90+ yards with a minute or so left and no timeouts. I don't have a problem with kicking off there at all. I know Alex Smith is obviously a game manager but I thought he made some big time throws in that game, he just definitely had some crucial drops down the field. If I'm the Chiefs and Andy Reid, I'm thinking about Romo. They have the roster built to win, they just need to make some bigger plays on offense. They're in cap hell but they can trim some of the fat by getting rid of overpaid often injured players like Jamaal Charles and Tamba Hali.
Totally agree with this. Romo would be perfect there. I like Alex Smith, but he just doesn't make enough plays.
Great, this weekend is just what I needed. Pittsburgh, Green Bay, and New England fans talking shit about how amazing their teams are because they dominate every God damned year. Parity my ass.
Getting rid of compensatory picks would be a step in the right direction. It is not like these guys need any more help to stay on top.
as we all know the common denominator coming out of this weekends games is the QB. Not to say prescott and smith played poorly - they both played well. But anyone who had any doubts now sees why it is the most important position in sports. gotta have a stud in there. period.
I thought onside, or at least pooch it into some empty space was the way to go. Giving yourself an extra chance to get the ball back was more important than field position, at that point. Like you said, 1 first down and the game was over, either way. * As a general rule, whatever 99/100 Madden players would've done in a given situation with game management/clock decisions, is the right call in the NFL.
At that point you have to onside kick. One first down and they win the game whether they get it starting at the 20 or 50. Why not try and get the ball?
^Steelers are going to have headset problems, bet. Whether the Pats actually cheat in this game or not...the Steelers, if they lose, will certainly complain about some kind of cheating. It's almost a win-win. Steelers win, Pats are out. Steelers lose, Pats will be called cheaters. Steelers fans travel better than any NFL team. I doubt too many Pats fans sell their seats, but Steelers fans will find a way inside, still. There will be some upheaval in the stands. This game is going to get 'chippy' fast. The refs aren't going to know who to help..? Is Goodell having dinner with Kraft night before the game?
That is usually what losers do. Headset problems are the norm at Foxboro, and for both teams. This year Pats had headset issues in Denver if I remember correctly. They just don't complain about like it's the reason for bad performance. Meanwhile Tomlin is out there tripping people on the sidelines and whining about every single thing.
whining about every single thing is more of a Br*dy trait. always crying for flags...or for more time on the playclock....or because someone actually hit him.....or for being held accountable for lying and cheating, etc.....lots of whining. and the headset issues have been overwhelmingly tilted towards the visitors, and usually at critical junctures of the game. the shenanigans at Foxboro have been going on throughout Belichick's tenure, and some of them have been perfected in process.
the fact that you felt compelled to defend your team against that post tells me you know they are cheaters too.
who cares fuck both teams they both whine all the time about everything. A rapist playing for a team that cries all the time vs. A cheater playing for a team that cries all the time. Your AFC finalists folks!
The Steelers would love nothing more than a chippy physical game (and so would I), as the Pats are a soft team who would lose that battle. But it won't happen. Belichick will spread the D out, get rid of the ball quick with short high percentage passes (and picks), high tempo with lots of flag lobbying......essentially everything to prevent it from being a physical game. the Pats players will talk a lot of shit, but they'll never go toe to toe.
The common denominator there is obvious. It starts with Q and ends with B. There is no position in sports remotely close to being as important as NFL quarterback.
Pats have been relying on the run way more than they use to. Helps when the d has to respect the pass more. They will try to use Dion Lewis a lot as a scat back with quick passes into the flat. But Dion Lewis is limited as versatile back bc of the recent fumbleitis. I think Blount will get a fair share of carries. Blount is probably extra motivated to play the Steelers who cut him. Keys for Steelers: Know when Dion Lewis on the field. Stop Edelman. Hit Brady. and you got to watch this Hogan kid on the deep shots. Knowing Belichick, if things go south, he will have something up his sleeve. Probably borderline controversial, dancing with the rules. You said it, "Go Steelers, and then, Go NFC."
