Haha that's so sad. Couldent even hire a fuckin bumb running back coach. I don't see there being to many options left within the NFL. I think it might be best if they look to college to grab a coordinator
I'm a little concerned that this hasn;t been taken care of yet. I'm sure the fact that the Jets don't really have a definite starting quarterback is hurting the search. Bowles and McCagnan are going to have to sell someone on taking this job. I hope they understand how crucial every signing is for their immediate future,
Either way, it's kinda embarrassing for this team and the fans. Even more than it already is. It's an OC position for crying out loud, can't even give the fucking spot away at this point. lol
You know your team is trash when a career runningbacks coach doesn't want a promotion/opportunity. Really did want him anyway. So in the words of the immortal Marv Albert YES!!
A RB coach staying his current position instead of taking an opportunity being an OC. I think this is telling us all about where NY Jets is as a team. An owner who is lying about whether his team has to reach the PO or not (all of us know Woody is not a patient owner), a HC who is fighting for his job, a roster with overpaid veterans and with little talent, ohh yeah and a team without franchise QB...yeah this the dream of all candidates, being an OC here...
so everyone is getting worked up that a rb coach is staying with his team and nobody knows if we even offered him a job? i love the offseason
they will hire from within quite obvious that 2017 is gonna be just as rough as last year. At least we'll be in prime position to clean house in terms of coaching and have a top pick to take any QB we want, and next years class is pretty good.
In all seriousness I'd love to see us give Pennington a shot. I wonder if Brian Schottenheimer would come back. He's the qb coach for the Colts now, another team with an uncertain coach situation. Yes we've been there done that, but a few years wiser than his last tenure (he's still only 43) and at one point he was considered one of the brighter young minds in football.
Woody should take this as a sign that he needs to reconsider firing Bowles. Nobody is going to sign onto this mess knowing that Bowles will be fired after next season when this team nosedives into a 4-12 finish or worse. I bet even college coordinators would be hesitant to take the leap to the NFL for fear of being tainted by being associated with this dumpster fire of a franchise.
who knows the actual situation. who knows if he was offered, who knows what denver has promised, who knows if we brought him in and said yeah were going to pass. but it sure doesnt look good for the jets when a middle of hte road rb coach decides to stay where he is instead of stay in the race. who HAS been brought in so far? has anyone been offered and turned it down? is there someone this dumb fuck is waiting for?
As a coordinator his offenses have never ranked higher than 11th in yards (2010 with us) and ranked higher than 23rd twice in 9 years as a coordinator. No thanks.
