The JETS need to bring the heat like they did to Brady. Pressure Grossman and he will make mistakes. If they don't, and play "safe", GAME OVER.
they wont play it safe...i have a feeling that we will see alot more of this blitz happy defense this week and for the majority of the season...reason being is that IT WORKS...when the Jets needed a stop against cleveland, they blitzed a few downs and lit up their offense, giving our offense a chance to tie the game...seeing that it worked, i had a slight feeling that they woudl blitz profusely and continue to attack Brady...Dont see much change this week
I think a bit too much is made of all this "get to Grossman and he'll fold" talk. He's had 2 bad games out of 9, both times he has no time at all. When the O-line plays well, as it usually does, and as Rex progresses, the mistakes will get fewer and fewer. Rex has a heck of an arm and he's smart. He'll make plays and lots of them. I think we're going to put up points on you. 24, 27, something like that. I think your best game would be to say "screw the Bears defense, yes they may be the best, but let's get our offense moving". Just come out, have a crack at us, play aggressively, and see what happens. That's what I think anyway.
My prediction is Brad Smith will throw his first NFL TD pass this week....or his first NFL interception. I have been wondering why Mangini hasn't had this guy run and option pass play but maybe he was saving for a tight game where we will have trouble scoring. This week would be the perfect week to pull it out.
It is nice to see opposing fans come in here and talk football rather than the usual "Jets suck" or " Have you seen this Jets draft video?"
We;;, it's easy to go on other team's boards and act like that. We get them every week at our place. Personally I'm happy my team is 8-1. We're playing really well and look dangerous but we've still made our share of mistakes, and I know the Jets are good enough team to punish us if we don't play well, just like we will punish your mistakes.
ha, yeah. I think Rex will be the 1st sucessful one. I'm not a huge Gator fan (like them as the local team), but some of my friends are BIG Gator fans and I joke that a Gator QB may finally be worth a S_ in the NFL
There's a Jets draft video? (sarcasm) And the Bear fans here are polite, nothing like the ones I usually hang around on the weekends. But seriously, I'm a Jet fan that has lived in Chicago since 1997 (fortunately i was away in college during the 2002 Champaign 20-13 debacle where Chrebet fumbled late). But I will go to sports bars this week and root for the Jets even if they lose. I'm not expecting to win this game, but I do want to be competitive for 4 quarters. If we can run the ball effectively, that would be a huge boost towards us winning. And I hope Berrian misses this game too.
:jets: The bears will be our toughest challenge yet! They do have an excellent offense and as we saw in Arizona their defense and win a game without any help from the offense. Are team has finally seen & learned what they do well ,The defense was tentative in the first half of the year because the coaches didn?t know what their team was capable of or not willing to goes balls out in fear of getting burned. The offense has shown they can drive down field, we have playmakers! Now its time to put it all together and start this journey toward our goal. The bear have a disadvantage when it comes to playing at the meadowland last week, flying home and then returning the next week to play the Jets. The Jets had to do that when we beat the raiders to make it into the play off's and we struggled. (Preparation time, Jetlag what ever)This is a golden opportunity for the jets to put their stamp on the season. Hey , consider this the jet's had their difficulties up until the New England game, was there confusion on New England?s side trying to figure out what the jets tendency were. Belichick likes to look at a teams tendencies or how often they do things in particular formation. Could the jets have been plotting this all along change their offensive tendesy's and defensive tendencies, I guess we'll see this week!! Go Jets!:jets:
i am a bigger fan of thepicture with brady sitting on the ground after ellis sacked him and all the jets just celebrating - as for this weekends game - the bears can be run on -- and we need to run to set up the play action and our passing game!!!
i am still 20 posts away from being able to start my own topic..i posted at my company message baord i was interestd in tix for sundays game cause ebay and stubhub were way to expensive for me..in 20 min someone emailed me sayign they have two extra they will sell at face..i was so fired....btw is anybody salivating at the possibility that if we do win the AFC East (knocks on wood) we might possibly play herm in the meadowlands...............WOW
Da Bear?.Welcome aboard Amigo. My 2 cents, Grossman is either becoming a genuine NFL star or he is the reason the Bears will fail. The fish and Arizona revealed real flaws in the Bear team or reconfirmed that it is a team a la the Ravens that travels on its defense - Grossman was much more gross than da man. Furthermore, they are at the top of a conference where no team is dominant. Besides the Giants, don't you think the stench of the 49ers, Packers, Minnesota, Arizona, Bills or the Lions has anything to do with how good the Bears are? Anyway, I think if the Jets catch the right breaks and make the big plays we COULD win. And that?s why we watch the games, that?s why we believe.... Peace out.
It's going to be a good game. Turnovers will be the key. Jets are good at interceptions. They picked Brady AND (P) Manning. Pressure on Grossman might make him flustered, but our D will be all in Chad's face all game. I think the Jets may hold us to below 30 points, but in the end we'll win the game. If it is good Grossman at the helm then we'll win by more than two TD's, but if Turnoversaurs-Rex is at the helm...the margin of victory could be less than a TD.
this morning Greeny asked a good question about blitzing Brady: was it because they hadn't done it yet, and therefore, the Pats were unprepared for it? which lead to, will they again blitz on Sunday vs. the Bears? i think it's a good point; but at the same time, i think they needed to do something on D to be more aggressive and make plays - game changing plays. between that and how we heard the D complained to the coaches about setting them free on blitzes, i think it's more than a catch-the-Pats-unprepared kinda thing. so, hopefully we'll see more more blitzing on Sunday. but i think we'll need to really mix it up because Grossman will go deep. fortunately for us, our DB's play 12 yards off the ball, so they don't get beaten deep (except for Drew Coleman's mental lapse in the 4th last Sunday). cheers
The Bears are extremely overated IMO & very beatable. With that said I don't really think the Jets are capable of putting up back to back performances like last week and therefore cannot beat the Bears..Bears are not the best team we have faced this year..
Green Bay, Minn, San Fran are all 4 and 5. Seattle and NY Giants are both 6-3. Although its not the toughest schedule out there, its not the easiest. No, we haven't played Indy, but we also didn't have to play the Titans. Miami is coming on strong and if they continue, watch out. What I'm trying to say is this is the NFL and there are no gimme games out there. So for all of you that think the Jets are going to win by 15 or more ( and I've seen some of your predictions) come back to reality. The Bears haven't played great teams but there putting good teams away.
Hey Amigo, Da Bearsssssss… Look, all I’m saying is that the Bears are for real to a degree - The best in the NFC no doubt. However, the NFC is not the AFC. The Bears are a real confident team but they don't scare me....like you said, they haven’t played the Colts, Patriots, Jaguars, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals, Broncos, and Steelers etc.... And you’re correct; your team didn’t play the Titans. Nevertheless, they played Da Cardsssss (1-8). Wow, I’m sure that was a bucket of cold water to the Bears who obviously thought the Cardinals would pass out in fear at the prospect of facing the Monsters of the Midway. Moreover, I believe it's your chums who are predicting that the Monsters of the Midway will beat da Jets by 27 points….do you really think the Jets will pass out in fear at the prospect of facing the Monsters of the Midway? I mean, they already defeated the team the handed your team their 1st loss…. Anyway, like I said, I think if the Jets catch the right breaks and make the big plays they COULD win the game. Peace out.
