Guys you can't throw away a year for a player you might not be in position to draft. Thats just terrible thinking.

Bill Musgrave was just let go by the Raiders. Whadya think? Supposedly, Carr preferred the QB's coach who'll probably getting a promotion. Don't know if Musgrave is the QB whisperer we need for Hackenberg. Only thing I really know about him is I used to watch him play for the Ducks.

I think we'll know who our next OC is within the next 10-14 days. There are alot of teams that are hiring new HC's which will need to form first before we figure it out. The more I think about it the more I think we may end up with someone from the college ranks.

I think Kyle Shanahan will as well (if the Star Ledger is correct).

Shanahan is a HC candidate, not OC

Yes, I know. Sorry, I misread the post I quoted. Thought that said they were interviewing for the HC job. I saw on the Star Ledger where purportedly, the Broncos are leaning towards hiring Vance Joseph as the HC and McCoy as the OC, but haven't seen anything elsewhere to confirm that is going to happen, so thought McCoy would be interviewing for the HC job.

If McCoy -> DEN, it seems McDermott will name Norv Turner as his OC in BUF, better to see in the mirror because the truth is that none of the good available OC's will come to the Jets, where Bowles is coaching for his job in next season.
I think we will get an OC from college.

Maybe they're eyeing up Lynn if he doesnt get a HC job? Could be a good up and comer with Jet roots who could even take over if/when Bowles fails if the O is developed.

most coordinator's contracts are 2 years at a time. they won't stay away from here because of bowles' job security. they will be paid anyway. in fact, you could make the argument that a o.c. would want to come here and maybe get 2 years of pay for 1 year here of service and double dip in 2018.

    That's exciting.....

If this plays out we man the CS with a bunch of first timers we will have succeeded at becoming the Pete Carrol Training School for Coaches

Oh wait...our HC is winding up classes this off season at the Stanley H Kaplan Head Coaching Preparation Course for the big exam Fall of 2017

Gut says new OC is retrieved outa the mothballs like Gailey was,,,,, Woody Hayes is still alive?? Bo Schembekler?

Honestly, all I can do is laugh at this point, I'm not even upset with the Jets.

I'm at such a point of disbelief with them that I have to laugh. What has this organization come to?

Hmmm...the beast has some success developing running backs like Marshon Lynch and some guys on the Bills but this too:

    2010–present[edit]
In January 2010, Studesville was hired by the Broncos as the running backs coach.[8]

On December 6, 2010, then-Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels was fired by owner Pat Bowlen and Studesville was promoted to interim head coach in his place.[9] However, the choice of Studesville to replace McDaniels was viewed by some as a surprise. Studevilles held the interim head coaching position for the final four games of the 2010 season, during which the team went 1-3, and Studesville started rookie Tim Tebow in weeks 15-17. Studesville recorded his first win as a head coach on December 26, 2010, when the Broncos defeated the Houston Texans 24-23.

Hope the Conga Line of candidates doesn't end here...hehe
