can we stop with the retreads, bringing in guys who aren't a fit in this offense?

Powell gives you slickness out there, he has great initial burst, has some power, EXCELLENT hands, good pass blocker...

You can bring in a young kid in the draft to be the BACKUP. But I want Powell to get some touches now. Take advantage of his skill set and how underrated this guy is.

Not sure why he's been an afterthought for the last several Jet CS but the negligence needs to stop in 2017. Forte needs to spell Powell and not the other way around.

He should be the starter for sure next year, but he is heading to that 30yo wall and given the depth the Jets need to draft one of the game breaker RB's in this draft.

Even if he backs up Forte he needs to get his hands on the ball more, I don't know if he can physically handle starting. but one thing is for sure they both need to be on the field at the same time, a coverage nightmare for LB's

At least a couple of mocks have the Jets taking Leonard Fournette, although at 7 it's probably too high.

Let it go. He will never make it thru season as feature back.

Reason == the last several Jet CS suck.

Bilal Powell and his success is a damning indictment of the coaching staff.

It should be Forte backing up Powell next year and it shouldn't really be up for debate anymore. Forte is still a good back and should continue to get looks in the offense, but seeing how Powell has been running, it would be foolish to have him be the backup again.

Good move for the Jets would be to move down, select the best RB on the board and use the extra high draft pick for OL or CB.

Doesn't make much sense to me to draft a running back so high when arguably our best player on offense is a running back. Unfortunately I don't see any O lineman rated very high, so we may need to go corner. Trading down would be our best bet and then grab a corner and OL.

Unless you have a second solid, starting quality RB Powell will end up on IR by the end of week 6.

Forte was doing just fine until we fell behind by 17+ points in every game.

I love Powell but Fournette and Cook would both give this offense something to build around for a decade

Could do much worse than them

Man this narrative is such BS to me because guess what? There's only a handful of backs who have made it through a whole season....

Zeke, David Johnson (he got his knee bent up badly yesterday but I'll count him since he played 16 games), Bell and Murray.

That's your list of backs who have played in the games they been available for.

RB's break man. Let Powell get touches, go grab a nice RB to compliment him as a backup and keep Forte if you want...AS A BACKUP.

It's been criminal how good Powell has been yet he's been saddle as just a backup...pencil him in as a starter game 1.

Are you sure, even after yesterday? Seems we traded places with SanDiego.

I agree but I might take one at 6 (or 7) anyway. We are desperate for offense and if there is no QB worth taking and a WR is useless without a good QB then take a RB..worked out of for Dallas this year who took one at 4. Of course their OL is a tad better than ours..haha.

I don't think we are desperate for offense. Our receivers with Marshall and Decker healthy and Anderson, Quincy and hopefully Smith as the young guys are good by any NFL standards.

Forte and Powell in the back field are fine for next year. All these guys are under contract right?

We need a QB and offensive line. The #6 pick needs to be a Mangold/Brick type. Not sexy, but someone who will wear green for the next decade and anchor the line.

Problem is there isn't a OL player in the draft worthy of the 6th pick.

    You got that right brother!

Stop whining about what we need. We have more holes than swiss cheese.

Aside from one or two positions the BPA will help us a lot more in the future than the immediate hole fillers you guys want to reach for.
