Why is it that teams like the Patriots simply let guys go when they're no longer functional or necessary but teams like the Jets hold on to players well past their usefulness? Its time to move on past Fitz into whatever future fate holds for the Jets.

Fitz was statistically the very worst QB in the league this season. It really is suicide mode for us as fans if our "best option", ie the most talented QB on the roster is Ryan Fitzpatrick. If that's the case, there won't be any point in watching the games. With that said, Fitz WAS the most talented QB on the 2016 roster and how depressing is that?
Now, if it was the ops intent to point the deficit in talent at QB? He's correct. As much as it pains me to say, Fitz is the best QB on the roster right now. In other words, Mac's efforts to find a QB have yielded nothing. As much as him selecting Darron Lee was an idiotic move, so are both of the QB's. There might be a time when Hack could hlp us win some games, but Petty there's no question he's terrible.
I'd take him as a backup for the vet min IF the team felt either Hack or Petty were ready to start. However, I don't think those guys are ready (and may never be), so we need a legit starting alternative either via FA or the draft, and not just a backup.

Forget the economics of it, Fitz could come back for free and it wouldn't make sense for this organization. His play has predictably declined when we got good money and he is old. No reason a franchise even in a "competitive rebuild" would want him. There are other veterans who will definitely be better or cheaper than him.
How many QBs have you seen throws 6 picks in one game? As for Revis, he was the worst, laziest and most overpaid player IN THE LEAGUE this year. Just once this year, did you ever see him lower his head to try to tackle in run support? Safety, HA! There IS a reason that so far nobody has "liked" your post.
