Well, the Jets won and won big today. Played well and pretty much dominated at home. That should be enough to keep Bowles employed thru 2017. If the team showed up today and shit the bed again, perhaps Bowles would have had something to worry about. Not now...
He's got complete control of the team, players will run threw walls for him, can't wait till he's fired next season. Bowles will replace a few of his coaches to make it all look good, that really improved our ST this season after firing Avril last season, what a difference.
Woody gave TB one more chance to get this shit straightened out. If he does, he'll be around in 2018. If not, he won't. Nice thing is, Woody is trying to show some patience for once. Might mean he's growing as an NFL Owner. We can only hope that's the case.
I do think it's a bit premature to fire him after one bad year. I think you've nailed it on the head. I mean I'm not excited with the guy, or even very hopeful, but it's the right move.
So essentially will we going into win now mode, sign a QB off the scrapheap, overpay for FAs on the downside of their career, should be a interesting off season, its so great being a Jets fan
We can't and we wont. Too many bad contracts to eat up during this offseason. Mac will have to do the hardest thing for a GM which is get better with less money. This could be one of those addiction by subtraction years like we had in 2011 where we got rid of Holmes and some other overpaid schmucks. Of course if our draft picks could just pan out FOR ONCE, we could easily replace a lot of guys on the cheap and get better too. It won't happen though because we're the Jets and that never happens.
There aren't many bad contracts to eat... Maybe 6M dead by dumping Revis....but most of macs contracts were without long term guarantees. There is a fair amount of cap space which can be easily cleared..
