i love how much you fucking guys hate revis. next time you are in a position to get paid, make sure you tell your boss you would prefer that he gives the money to someone else. bunch of fucking hypocrites. dont be mad just because he had the ability and the skill to say i want more and get it. id say he did pretty well for himself and got his superbowl. the guy was one of the best players the jets have ever had and you guys treat him like he was johnny mitchell.
It's like getting paid a salary and then constantly going to your boss for a raise or you're not going to work (or lets say work elsewhere). After awhile it gets old.
but if you are good at your job and can force your bosses hand then more power to you. nfl players mostly get completely fucked over by their owners, gms, coaches and franchises. this time the shoe was on the other foot. i agree he wont be a jet next year, im just not going to hate him for making money.
No one said he was wrong for treating it like a business, but he can't have a double standard and ask his employer to not treat it like a business when he is on the possible losing end of this situation. He also was paid for his services when he was good, he is not playing like a CB who is worth $17 million a year. How would you handle his contract situation? Would you bring him back at his current salary? Or would you cut him based on his terrible performance and take the cap hit?
i sit on both sides on this. i agree with you that he cant have it both ways. he should be cut or offered to retire as was suggested before. i would cut him. or ask him to take a pay cut. can you even do that? no he isnt worth his current salary. yes i have no problem with cutting him. my issue is all the posts in this thread from guys who HATE revis because of things he did 5 years ago. these guys really cant stand the guy and instead of putting hte contract stuff to the side and enjoying the fact he is one of the best players to ever play for the jets they cant get over the fact that he fought for more money and got it. the guy is a model citizen, not that it matters but thats another reason people hate guys, but that mother fucking piece of shit money hungry asshole held out. i say good for him, and now the jets need to do what they need to do. but i am not going to hate the guy for the things he did or is doing now.
Then he can't be the ultimate hypocrite and rip the Jets for a lack of 'class' when they're making a business decision since that's what he and his then-agents passed all his holdouts off as, business decisions. He got his money when he had the leverage, now he has none so he's gotta stfu and eat it.
How this guy can decide now after his play over the last 16 games ( heavy emphasis on the last game of 2015) and bring up being treated with class is something you have to expect when he held out twice while under contract. It appears Uncle Sean Gilbert is still advising him on concentrating on the word GREED and nothing else. Much more unfortunate is the head coach starting him all year with this performance.
I am disgusted beyond sick. Revis made a captain for today's game. That's our example of a captain. That's it for me. Would love to wake up tomorrow and hear Bowles has been fired.
i agree, my issue is with the vitriol folks speak about him with. he does have to eat it this time around. he hasnt been good. sadly i am fairly confident he will play again next year and be a formidable.
