Saw this on the ESPN Cheats blog concerning tomorrow's game:
"The Jets ranked first against the run in their first eight games of the season (74.0 avg.) but are 27th since Week 9, with opponents averaging 134.5 yards per game."
So did they all just quit? And if so, whose fault was that? Players, coach or both?

I don't know and don't have time to look it up, but at least part of it possibly could be that the teams they faced in the first 8 games didn't have great RBs or rushing attacks, and those we've faced since 9 were much better in that regard. That said, I'm thinking that most or all of it is on the poor coaching/schemes and play of the players.

Our first six games of the season were essentially a gauntlet of top rated teams. Our opponents did not get better as the season progressed, we got worse.

I didn't say opponents, I said rushing attacks, and said it was "possibly" a part of the problem. I didn't say it was. RIF, my man, RIF.

FYI, Carlos Hyde is 11th in rushing yards and 8th in YPC at 4.7. He's emerging as a top tier running back this year, it's just that SF is god awful and almost always playing from behind. If not he'd probably be near the top 5.
