Jets need two new starters at both left and right offensive tackle positions. Address one side in free agency and the other in the NFL Draft.
If they manage the roster right, there will be plenty cash to spread around. Lets hope Macc learned something after the twin fiascos of Revis and Fitz's contracts.
Namath said it best.....asked who he thought should QB in the next game, he said something to the effect of the way they were blocking in that game he didn't think they should use a QB in the next game.
I thought Bryce made progress. Anyone who has sniffed offensive football above the pee wee level should see he made progress in this start. Further, at this point in his career, he needs to string along correct decisions. It's not about wins and losses, completitions and interceptions. As long as he is recognizing defenses, and where to go with the football I am happy. Derek Carr lost his first 8 starts. Eli Manning was terrible in his first half season, and Jared Goff looks atrocious. If Bryce was a first round pick everyone would be raving about him. I still believe he is the answer. Now the coaching staff, Sheldon Richardson, Wilkerson, Revis, Pryor, and Brandon Marshall (who is Braylon Edwards/ Plax/ Santonio Holmes) is yet to be seen. We can win four games with or without those guys.
This Oline is so bad I really don't want to see Petty back in there again this season. The first fuck up by the Oline (Shell) almost cost Petty his career with a shoulder. The 2nd fuck up by the Oline almost cost Petty his life. I'm not so sure I'd give this Oline a 3rd chance to kill Petty. Let Fitz the Thief take the smash until the season is over, then send his ass down the road. If they want to protect Petty for 2017, don't play him again in 2016.

It was Ben Ijalana (#71, on Petty's left) and TE Eric Tomlinson (#83, on Petty's right) that stood like statues as the two defensive players rushed by them on the play that knocked Petty out. I've watched that replay (and the shot from directly behind the QB that they showed later in the game) many times... it's one of the most unprofessional plays I've ever seen. And Petty had nothing to do with it, it wasn't about "awareness". Ron
It's hard to judge Petty playing behind this shit OL. did he make mistakes, yes all young QB's starting out do. It's the progression and learning from those mistakes that makes a QB worth keep trotting out there. Geno never showed progression. He made the same bone head mistakes over and over and over. I like the vertical passing game they're starting to use. He missed a bit on it but in time that will come and when it does this team could be a dangerous offense... IF they don't fuck it up by not drafting OL to protect the QB yet again.
According to Ian Rapoport, tests on Jets QB Bryce Petty revealed that he’s dealing with just a deep bruise after taking a big hit during Saturday’s loss to the Dolphins.
Sticking Fitz back in would be sweet poetic justice. If I was Mac...I'd pull the center aside and tell him if he wants to keep his job, snap the ball early every down.
Pretty relived that's it's not serious and he'll most likely start. On the other hand our Oline could make the Patriots defense look twice as good as the Broncos defense last year lol
All things considered petty has looked fairly good. Yes holding onto the ball to long can be an issue but on Saturday I think he was getting it out fairly well. It's been said before we should just hope for progress and not necessarily a win against the pats as bellichek will be all over making Petty's life hell.
