Of course. Powell was the x-factor last season and they just put him on the shelf this season.

Powell should have been the primary back the entire year.

Forte still has that ability to just suddenly break a big play. But the heart and never stop attitude you get from Powell is worth more than that over the whole game. He fights for every yard, every play.

Forte is more of your classical RB who'll make the cut and if you give him a hole he will break you. Powell is more of a scrappier runner who will break a tackle and scrap for a couple of yards (as we see in his passing game.)

Ideally we'd use them more equally or situationally depending on the down and yardage, time of game and the match-up between the two lines.

Forte's play has been solid and deserving of the #1 spot but..........not every pass play has to go to BM and not every running play should be the same back.

If Forte doesn't get hurt, the Jets lose this game.

He should have been starting all year. The fact that Forte has been getting more carries than Powell is a strong reason to dump this coaching staff. Even more so than insisting on starting Fitzpatrick, even though he's been awful.

The biggest indictment on Chan is that he has let Bilal basically rot on the bench for 2 years.

Powell has historically effectively become the primary back late in the season. His legs are much, much fresher than most 'primary backs' coming into this point in the season, against typically more-injured teams. Keep in mind the 49'ers were missing their pro bowl ILB today for all that cutback yardage he gained today....

But yes, we've seen Powell emerge as a late-season monster several times now. He's a great back we should be keeping on the roster for sure.

I put the blame on Bowles as well. Everyone was clamoring for Bilal to get more playing time. It was a no brained.

Yup. So frustrating he wasn't used in this capacity all season long.

RB's break. It happens. You can't see what you have with him unless u give him a chance to start. Get him 20-25 touches and see what he can do.

The only reservation I have with Powell being the primary back is can he physically handle a 20-25 carry workload game in and game out? I suspect that's the main reason they haven't wanted to make him the lead back but you won't really know until you find out and it's time to find out about Powell too.

oh give me a fucking break powell is a change of pace back who gets 5 carries a game. he has always been that and will always be that.

forte on the other hand is a bonafide running back who has been doing it for years. this whole site said after game 2 that they were impressed but didnt want the jets to over use him. iirc he had 50 or so carries for 200 yards. and then he started getting used less. and guess what, he still had 4 or 5 strong games.

so spare me the bullshit that powell is better than forte, you sound like a fucking retard.

Powell being better than Forte is something that we've all known for pretty much the entire season, if not going back into the offseason when Mac brought in Forte.

Forte was the big splash signing that Woody craves. Powell proved last year, and again this year in incredibly small doses, that he's the RB on the roster most worthy of being THE guy. Hopefully Mac has figured that out as work on the 2017 season begins.

Powell had a good game today and is a solid #2 RB, but the Jets need to make sure they grab a RB in this draft that can be the feature back.
