Last year I had my cousin who is a staunch Cowboys fan tell me all year long "Man, I want that guy" concerning Pryor, week in and week out. He played well last year.
Absolutely. The Jets were good last year. That's my point of this thread. Why were they so bad in 2014, good in 2015, then so bad again now in 2016? Doesn't quite add up.
so clearly you haven't watched the games? He's a difference maker when he's on the field. thats why he is the only LBer we have playing 3 downs. he plays in our base, nickel, and dime packages.
a terribly weak group of teams last year really masked a lot of issues. AND our own division has really taken a step forward this year. Miami is not a complete joke this year, buff is ehh but not as bad as Miami was last year. that said, losing dbrick was HUGE. having marshall not at 100% has been HUGE. the coach has still be exposed as a buffoon but there are a number of reasons that things were different that year. part of it too is that the roster was a hot mess in 2014 and rex had worn out his welcome so far as I was concerned, sure the guys may have still loved him but everyone gets tired of a rah rah guy with no substance after awhile. sadly I think we are in a worse position today then we were at that point. and when I get to this point as much as we want longevity its time to make changes. longevity is only good if you have good people. we do not.
2014 and 2016 tougher schedule. 2015 easier schedule. 2017 will also be easier schedule so expect 9 or 10 wins with minimal change in talent level. Of course having veterans pack it in early didn't help us in the even years.
plus as good as enunwa is, lets not forget about what a big loss decker is. he was our 3rd down WR that kept drives alive and never dropped passes. and also another big red zone threat opposite marshall
No powerback - Forte is great but he's not really the smashmouth runner in the same mould as Ivory, was hoping they'd use Powell more in this mode but....? No Decker - Was our clutch guy when we needed to keep drives going. BM and Enunwa are great but too often they seemed to drop the ball on the odd occasion it was catchable. Too easy to pass on - If Revis ain't going to jam then he shouldn't be playing. Skrine is not an outside corner and we still don't have an edge rusher. 4-3, 3-4, Skrine - Put your guys in the positions they are accustomed to. If you have a guy or guys that are pro-ball in one system then don't turn them into rookies by forcing them into another. Last year I had hope that the D would stop a drive or two and give Fitz & Co. enough chances to rack up some points. This year I have no such faith and almost expect the opposing D to dink n dunk their way down field apart from the odd occasion when we'll choke up a big, big play. For all the hating on TB and Chan - My ire is very much direct at Rodgers and his department.
Defense didn't show up, receiving corps was weaker due to Decker, coaching staff seemed unconvinced in taking any risks, don't think Forte made the runnng game as convincing as Ivory.
Fitz was 31 TD and 15 Int last year and this year...we all know the story. Everything changes when your QB can't function
