This is the same mediocre journeyman that many demanded was resigned largely for his leadership abilities as well!
Not forever, just for the next 4 games while they're trying to evaluate and develop Petty. I hear what you're saying, but I'm talking about seeing the field in a game right now. Let him get all the practice reps he wants. Give him a ton of work in OTAs, mini-camps, TC and preseason next year, but I don't want him getting Petty killed or seriously injured again. If he develops and wins a starting spot next season, fine, but with the way the Jets have developed players (not developed really), I don't want him getting Petty injured at a time we need to evaluate what he can do. Evaluate Shell another time. When you're trying to develop and get a read on a young QB, you need to surround him with your best players to get a true idea.
Someone needs to bump the Fitzpatrick thread, so all the contradicting Fitz hate mongers, can see how pro Shitz they were prior to the season, I remember one poster claiming Fitzpatrick was the best QB in Jets history!
I'm safe on that one at least. Always thought the difference in performance between Fitz and Geno was going to be minimal and not worth paying more for.
Lol just teasing bro, I watched last night because i rarely ever get to watch the Jets live but yeah I've checked out on this season. Just hoping it gets better next year because i can't stand and to watch this team when they're like this. Last year was awesome although it looks like mirage at this point, hopefully we have a different approach this year, cause this is sad. I guess I'm not really mad cause i honestly didnt believe in this team at the start of the season.
Not sorry to say, Petty will never be a long term starter anywhere. He is simply not cut from the right cloth. I have more faith in Hackenberg to be a long term QB but not much there either. Best hope now is that we win the draft lottery at QB. As I understand there aren't any blue-chip guys available.
I don't know about Bryce. Yesterday did not mean shit because everyone was on his ass. Of course is really easy to come in trailing by 30 freaking points behind a shit show of a line, and a game plan a blind defensive player could predict. Take away the running game to boot and it should be a piece of cake for any rookie with limited exposure and zero proper coaching to conquer. He can't read defenses because with this coaching staff he has not been exposed to shit. But I guess that was all good enough for Fitz and his shit show in the first half. In yesterdays display of incompetence, Bryce was the least of our problems.
Being an old Brooklyn Dodger fan I am cursed. I can't stop watching this crappy team and management shit the bed on Sundays. I NEED H E L P !!!
Thing I don't get, and I've asked this before, on this board and in conversation with friends, is what in the world did Bowles do, to lose this team? I mean, it befuddles me that a guy goes 10-6, and the next season the entire team just progressively quits on him. I've never seen it before. I mean, yeah I guess it's plausible that the guys you see specifically not trying (Mo, Revis, Richardson, etc.), just all of a sudden said, "Yeah, I'm not playing anymore , just gonna collect my money and go through the motions" . I mean, I have never seen anything like this before... The Kotite era, and any other where we sucked and lost, found us at least TRYING. I think it's important to know why, because you can't fix anything before you know that. Any of you guys with insider web sites or industry knowledgeables or observations as to what caused all this?
It seems to be an Idzickian or Kottitian meltdown for sure. What they do after the season will tell us something. If they even know themselves, or can figure out, WTF went wrong. Of course the caveat is that Woody Fukn Johnson will be involved with the process
Well shame on us......it is the 20 year anniversary of the kotite years so what the hell did we expect. LOL
