Prior to the game I think people could make an argument that Bowles should be brought back, right now you can't make a legitimate argument to bring him back. The team came out flat and quit on the coach yesterday. We had 3 personal fouls, we are undisciplined and no player said they would run through a wall to save his job like they did a few years back when Rex was on the hot seat. Woody saw a more than half empty stadium yesterday and you could get in for a few dollars....that is not a good optic to anyone. Not the owner, not the fans, not the media, not the league. Bowles and the rest of the coaches will most likely be given their walking papers at seasons end. You cannot hold on to failure for the sake of giving it a shot. Press the reset button, allow Macc to hire his own coach, and get the dead weight players off of this team. After cuts we are looking at 50+ million in cap.
matt what time is he on the show? also, do they take phone calls? I might call him and ask him to kindly resign
Not sure Browning, I think 4:30 - 5pm, same thing every week, we're focused on next week, we're focused on next week, we're focused on next week, we're focused on next week, we're focused on next week, we're focused on next week....etc...
The organization needs again what Coach Parcells brought some law and order. A little fear factor. Suggestion : VP Football operations Tom Coughlin GM same for now(evaluate scouting staff ) HC Coughlin's choice
The whole mismatching puzzle pieces seems to be part of the problem. Keep this guy, fire this guy, and force these other two guys to work together. If we were to hire Coughlin, he has to have full decision making power to hire his own GM, scouting department and then the GM/Coughlin decide on a head coach. We can't keep requiring a GM to work with a coach that wasn't really his choice after all. If you keep Maccagnan, he needs to go and choose his own head coach and he gets two more years. If they're that embarrassed then everyone needs to go at the same time. I'm a big supporter of a VP of football operations being hired, rather than a couple consultants each making a couple million dollars for a months work that could give two shits about what happens with the franchise. A VP needs to perform to save his job. A consultant does not.
My thought process was to keep the current GM only to he some continuity . Instead of replacing an entire scouting staff that just started. Evaluate that aspect. New HC with VP Coughlin in charge of it all.
Woody Johnson should offer Jim Harbaugh 20 million annually to run football operations and coach for the Jets. I know its a pipe dream but if you think about people that would excite this fanbase at having someone who is proven to be the real deal, it would be worth every penny. Have to put an experienced coach at the helm. Bowles is unfit to be a HC for the jets.
Thank you for the welcome . I'm a long suffering fan and former ticket holder. Coached HS and College FB for many years. Worked 6 NFL camps (including Jets) and was on Leonard Marshall's HS staff.
Are you serious? You really think I would insult someone by not using my real name? Of course I'm really Jonathan Vilma. Mr. Vilma to you.
Sorry about that. But now I'm a bit more suspicious because the sweet young man I met in Florida out of HS on a football trip would never demand such reverence .
Let's be real we are not getting Saban or Harbaugh or Meyers. I think Coughlin is a possibility on many levels to run the operation (stick it to the neighbors foremost ). And he is just what the doctor ordered .
