You read my mind! My only concern is that Dak and Shelly leave the NFL to start an XFL style offshoot to Nascar where all drivers are under the influence of at least one substance for races. We all know Sheldon's got the need for speed (& weed)! For that reason alone, I think picking up Dak could be a SLIGHT risk, but I if we can grab him in the draft and trade for Johnny Manziel we could be one of the ELITE party teams in the NFL.
I find this thread totally fascinating in view of Dak's current status in the NFL. Rookie of the Year candidate and MVP candidate!
Yeah, I was way off in my opinion about the Jets taking Dak, lol....just goes to show you that's all a real crap shoot in the later rounds as far as QB's are concerned.
Hey, even if we had drafted him, Sixpatrick would have remained the starter. He has done well, but the pressure is off him cos Romo was out long term and he has a terrific OL and RB. Even Dez has 'bought' into what Dak can do. Think that would happen here with the Jets? Nope.
The thing that sticks out to me is his composure, leadership and winning attitude. Maybe we should look at those intangibles one of these years.
In an alternate timeline the New York Goodtime Charlies are two games ahead of the Patriots for first place in the AFC East.
Jerseyjay14 or Marty McFly? Either way your were on some Nostradamus shit predicting this. I applaud you. But of course the jets don't draft this stud and we invest in Hackenberg. Terrible college QB = Great pro QB? Logic for days!... FML.
It's worked for Trevor Siemian so far. Not great, but he's a formidable NFL quarterback despite having 11 passing touchdowns as his best college season.
I would like to look back and say that maybe footwork and character might be two huge things teams don't look at in a QB.
I never thought he had what it took. I thought he was more of an athlete than a QB. Like a Tim Tebow type QB but with better accuracy. I would have been pissed if we drafted him. I viewed him like I did Brett Hundley. With that being said I feel that Dak has been extremely lucky. The system he has been put in is great. The OL and RB do wonders for him. I don't know if he will ever carry a team and be a top ten QB. He has it easy right now. Teams have to commit like crazy to stop Zeke.
For sure was blessed with a rookies dream offense. It's almost difficult to blow the opportunity he has in front of him. Perfect o-line, young RB, Dez and Cole Beasley, HOF TE.. I mean damn.
