I don't think I want to be made into a pariah, taking one for a team that is going nowhere and doesn't seem to care. Now, if everyone from the coach on down is actively competing all the time, that's a little different.

Throw in the players all caught up in politics and social media and just about all of them are caught up in 'issues', are communicating within themselves, and are not all in anymore.

Follow the money. It's the only thing that matters in the NFL anymore. The players are just wise to it now and playin' that game. It's not the players who started that. It's always been the owners.
I have never begrudged a player a dime ever, who were always essentially putting their lives on the line. It's not the players fault.

This play and the refs calling Enunwa's TD no good both had me draining beers. Although the later got over turned, I was pretty miffed until it did. Still don't get why they wouldn't send that up to the booth instead of making Bowls challenge it.

Since they ruled the pass incomplete, it wasn't a scoring play. So it wasn't automatically reviewed.

That was a real head scratcher, as was the explanation for why they picked up the flag.

maybe they should get the damn call right on the field for once. I know they have 75 different combinations of what is and isn't a catch but that one wasnt even hard.

I thought the refs were instructed to call it a TD and let the booth fix it if it's close. Since a scoring play is reviewed anyway it's the "safer" decision.

That game was so the Pats being the top of the hierarchy of the NFL that it wasn't funny. Between that catch being called incomplete, to the fair catch flag being picked up...

And you know damn well the league protects Brady more then most QB's...

i know, i understand not calling unnecessary roughness. they guy didn't tackle him or anything, but when you call fair catch they aren't allowed to touch you. i can't believe none of the crew thought to bring up fair catch interference.
this^ always er on the side of it being a score if it's close so they get an automatic review. don't make coaches waste a challenge on it

also worth noting the refs were so bad that bowles got 2 of his challenges overturned in the same game. it's pretty rare that happens. I winder if he knew he gets a 3rd because of that. didn't seem like it

I didn't like that one either, but it was harder to rage on that one. He certainly made a fair catch gesture, but as fair catch signals go... It was a pretty sorry one. Again, it should have been called, but my high school coach would have popped me in the head for not making a clearer fair catch signal.

If it's a clean hit what could they possibly throw a flag for? He is downfield blocking. I totally understand what you are saying. The player who hit Brady very well might have been ostracized, but I'm sorry, somebody has got to throw a clean block on the guy. I can't watch this game if they are going to give certain players immunity. You are telling me Brady is immune to getting hit if he is attempting to block downfield? No wonder the NFL is truly failing.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but I could definitely see the unnecessary roughness flag coming out and the hit being all over sports media the next day.

Maybe I'm just hoping the players haven't given up and were cognizant of the possibility of drawing a flag.

One would think that, but then they're also instructed to stay with he call on the field if they're unsure.

I do think they whistle too many plays dead with replay in their back pockets. This is why they need an official up in the booth looking at every play.

If we can see it in real time on TV they would save themselves a lot of grief.
