The U.S. didn't want him in power. They were playing two against the middle. They were trying to preserve their financial interests first and foremost, and Batista had become a liability with his outright horrific corruption. The U.S. started to back away in their support of Batista, tried to negotiate with Castro and perhaps introduce a moderate leader, but when they saw how left leaning Castro was and how much he was lying through his teeth, the rest is history. Castro 1, U.S. 0. The bottom line is that every government lies and is full of shit, but at the end of the day, Castro is a still a huge POS. He did THAT part on his own. In the 1950's U.S. companies owned most and in some cases nearly all of entire industries in Cuba and was also by far the country's largest importer. Why would you think the U.S. government desired to throw that all away to a communist? please explain to us why you think your nonsense would even be close to true.
