I'm glad I don't have to explain to a ten year old daughter why an erection lasting more than four hours is a problem.
I still ref HS hoops and it's no different there, either. Coaches are more focused on their won-loss records than teaching fundamentals, so even at the community league level they're taught full court presses and help-side D rather than pass/pivot/dribble/shoot mechanics. The leagues have even had to put in "mercy rules" - no zone D, no press after 15 point lead, minimum time requirements, etc. because the coaches at the lower levels just don't get it.
The thinking must be that most children don't watch NFL football...? We certainly are "penetrated" with an astounding amount of advertising in America. Dick pill sales must be up. Ok, I'm done.
That sounds incredibly soft and like everyone gets a trophy status. Let Jimmy the 8 year old prodigy step on their friggain necks!
If I have an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours I'm not only calling my doctor, I'M CALLING EVERYONE!!!!! #selfie
Get rid of divisions. Conferences only. The current setup allows a clear path to the playoffs for a handful of top teams year in and year out. Recently, the afc east has to be one of the best examples of why the NFL has little parity. Completely out classed it's an automatic trip to the post season; paves the way to #1 seed which results in a bye and guaranteed home games for the the divisional round and conference championship. The current system is terribly broken due to the complete ineptness of the dolphins, bills and our beloved Jets. Our division is completely fucked. Other divisions have similar, regular, play off births due to guaranteed wins. Another option would be move all the teams that advanced deep into the playoffs into a top flight division. Divisions would change every season. Bottom tier and top tier. Basically how the team finished the prior season I think the easiest solution is get rid of divisions
I wouldn't mind two divisions per conference similar to the setup in the NHL... Top two teams in each division make the playoffs and then the next two are wildcard. I'm also tired of how easy the passing game is for top QBs. They need to allow the secondary to have more freedom in defending. I'm tired of 3rd and long being no big deal for these teams. It's garbage boring football.
Division winners since 1996 (covers 21 years): guaranteed at minimum 1 home play off game. AFC East Pats 16x Jets 2x Dolphins 2x Colts 1x Bills 0x AFC West Broncos 8x Chargers 5x Chiefs 4x Raiders 3x Seahawks 1x AFC North Steelers 10x Ravens 4x Bengals 4x Jaguars 2x Titans 1x Browns 0x AFC South (2002 was first year of AFC South, covers 15 years) Colts 9x Texans 4x Titans 2x Jaguars 0x NFC East Eagles 7x Cowboys 6x Giants 5x Redskins 3x NFC West Seahawks 8x 49ers 4x Cardinals 3x Rams 3x Falcons 1x Saints 1x Panthers 1x NFC North Packers 11x Vikings 5x Bears 4x Buccaneers 1x Lions 0x NFC South (2002 was first year of AFC South, covers 15 years) Panthers 5x Buccaneers 3x Falcons 4x Saints 3x
My opinion is you do four divisions of 8 teams. Scheduling: Play each team in your division once (7). Play one team in your division twice based on a seven year rotation (8). Play top four or bottom four teams of the other conference division based on prior year standing (12). Play one team of each division in other conference based on prior year standing (14). Play one team in each division in the other conference based on a seven year rotation (this can potentially lead to playing the same team twice unless intentionally avoided) (16). Playoffs: Top two teams in each division make the playoffs. Fifth and Sixth seed are wildcard and can be from either division (or both from one) Division winners each get a Bye week. Division Structure: AFC SouthEast (Shula Division) Pats Jets Dolphins Bills Broncos Chargers Chiefs Raiders AFC NorthWest (Noll Division) Steelers Ravens Bengals Browns Colts Texans Titans Jaguars NFC NorthEast (Halas Division) Eagles Cowboys Giants Redskins Packers Vikings Bears Lions NFC SouthWest (Walsh Division) Seahawks 49ers Cardinals Rams Falcons Saints Panthers Buccaneers Thing about this is that travel really sucks for teams in the divisions with Western Teams. It would be rough to work with unless you demolish AFC & NFC and do West with West, East with East, North with North, South with South (not likely to ever happen).
4 divisions would be better. Playing each team once, and all other out of division. They should just merge 2 closest traveling divisions together.... afc east with afc south or north (preferably south). Or just move afc east into a division with the NFC east. That would be better. The 4 team current divisions aren't working. Playing a team twice that sucks balls is unfair advantage and easy path to postseason with a guaranteed home game in the postseason
