you don't know that the will of the people was ignored. there is no way to predict how people and how many people would have voted if we operated under a system other than the one we currently do. there is no legitimate gripe,if there was Hilary would not have been so gracious in defeat.

    Clinton - 64,637,503
    Trump - 62,409,389

Except the majority of the country voted for Clinton. Small, low population states have no business overriding the majority of the country's population.

The rules sucked in 2016. They sucked in 2012. They sucked in 2008. They've always sucked. There's zero reason some states should have more voting power than other. Why does Wyoming electoral votes take 1/3 the number of Californians per electoral vote? There's no sense to it.

I can understand people not liking it but to say there's no sense to it is ignorant at best. Do a little research.

The system was never designed for the majority to dictate to the minority. your argument is complete nonsense.

Large populations should not dictate to the smaller populous how they are governed. Unlike you, the founding fathers had the wisdom to see the flaw of a majority rules system. The rationale of that system has been explained as nauseum. You sound like an idiot continuing to harp on the majority when it is irrelevant and the rationale against it is it only sound it is ingrained in our constitution.

So the smaller populous states should govern the big? Got it.

The only thing you've got is your Strawman. At least you are unapologetic in your irrationality.

I guarantee if Trump had won the popular vote and lost the electoral college, the same posters that are singing the EC's praises would be blasting it. And I would get such a kick of seeing the posts here if the EC were to vote Hillary president. All of a sudden, people who loved the EC would be screaming about how un-democratic it is.

It's like saying the Senate is un-democratic. Which it is.

Fortunately nobody wants Hillary Clinton, except Ron, so we won't have to worry about finding out.

I've got my argument that we should be a Democracy. It's insane that the popular vote and electoral vote can be so drastically different. Only in America does such an idiotic system exist.

    48% is not a majority.

And from the rest of your argument, (and from your other comments) it's clear that you have not taken the time to try to educate yourself as why States in a Constitutional Republic are granted equal representation.

As I tell my children, "Dare to know". That means they need to educate themselves on matters.

Well, it is undemocratic in that it doesn't value each person's vote equally. The whole concept of "One man, one vote" gets tossed by the electoral college. It was constructed at a time when communication across the first thirteen states was a days or weeklong process. It is an anachronism, plain and simple. The problem is that calling a Constitutional convention to update this and other aspects to our fast travel, instant communication current way of life requires politicians who are looking out for their constituents rather than themselves. In other words, we're fucked. Still.

Did you voice your displeasure with the current system before Hillary lost? If not it just sounds like whining now.

I get it, I just disagree with it because it's wrong. But continue to pretend to be smart by stating things every adult knows. I'm sure that'll continue to work out for you.

It's always been a dumb system. I'm not sure what's not to get. It was dumb every previous election. It was dumb this election. What are you confused about with my opinion?

Well I would think if you thought it was such a dumb system you would have voiced that over the months when you were posting in all the political threads.

Instead when someone claimed Trump had a chance to win you said, "Stop grasping at straws.". Seems you were quite content with the system until it didn't work out in your favor.

What works for me is being educated on processes and procedures and how things work. And if I don't like the outcome, I know why it didn't work out and how it can be changed.

Statements like "Why does Wyoming electoral votes take 1/3 the number of Californians per electoral vote? There's no sense to it" lead me to believe to believe you have not taken a moment to understand what the process is, because then you'd now that statement is not true. You can't propose solutions when you don't understand the reasoning of a perceived problem.

Why does California have 52 additional electoral votes beyond the 3 that Wyoming (and all States and the District of Columbia) are guaranteed under the Constitution?

    Dare to know
