Only difference is one is a quiet idiot the other is a big mouth idiot, wait a minut one other difference, oh forget it!!!
Finally, someone who gets it. I have great respect for you with this. It's obvious to me that Todd Bowles isn't even half the HC that Rex Ryan was for us. 2011 and beyond was either piss poor GM incompetence or an outright effort to hamstring the HC. Tanny was dumb managing the team and that lended itself to John Idzik who quite frankly didn't give a fuck about Rex and really wanted to fire him. Rex got screwed and IMO, that's why you see this nonsense of Bowles and Mac answering to Woody. I think it was a genuine effort on the part of Woody to make sure things like the dynamic between Rex and Idzik never happen again. I really don't know if it's going to work? I don't think it will. The bottom line is I would love to see the match of Mike MacCagnan and Rex Ryan working together and no plots to screw over the HC. Todd Bowles just sucks plain and simple. He was hired to be the Anti-Rex. The guy that would bring discipline and accountability to the team. Well, instead what we are finding out is that he has no control of the team, he cannot motivate the team, he has players that routinely show up late for meetings or miss them altogether, his stamp is supposed to be defense and we have one of the worst defenses in the league. Mac has bent over backwards to give Bowles everything he's has ever felt he needed. Darron Lee is SPECIFICALLY IMO Todd Bowles choice. If Mac was not deliberately trying to get Todd Bowles what he wanted, I doubt he would have ever drafted Darron Lee. Mac would have known better. Bottom line is Jets fans complained that Rex needed to go and the owner complied. Jets fans honestly thought the grass was greener on the other side. Now, they are finding out they are to blame for this nonsense mess that's going on. Be happy Jets fans you are all a bunch of shitheads that wanted things this way..........
So Rex never got his way here? I guess it is a coincidence that every first round pick with Rex here save one was for defense. And the fact that Rex's last four seasons here were all non-wining records including 6-10 and 4-12 two of the last three years--not Rex's fault right? And the fact that he played old butt fumble game after game had nothing to do with the fact that Rex had his number tattooed into his body? Just a coincidence right? Let's not forget Rex's brilliant clock management and use of timeouts. And Rex's brilliant choice of team captains like Santonio Holmes who had a meltdown in the huddle--real leadership from Rex's appointed team captain.. Yes, I yearn for the days of Rex Ryan and his bragging at press conferences which only served to motivate the other team.,
I didn't forget that. But unlike other posters, I can look past a record to see what really happened. And what happened is Idzik trashed the team. NO coach can win with no talent. People will bash Rex because he is equated to some hard times, but those with football intelligence can look past and see WHY those hard times occured and the answer isn't Rex.
Pretty sure everyone with a brain figured out that it meant conference championship game appearances.
Ridiculous post. Rex Ryan needed to go. He sucks. Bowles just sucks more. Jets fans are not to blame for this mess. Woody is to blame. He is a clueless dumbass. Only he would have tried to avoid the same situation of Rex and Idzik by making Bowles and Mac equals. The Rex/Idzik situation would never have happened if Woody had either fired Rex and allowed Idzik to hire his own HC, or fired Rex and then hired a better GM candidate who had a real background in scouting and personnel and let him hire the new HC. You're the only shithead wanting Rex. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! I lost respect for you with your lame post.
BS Rex was just as responsible as Idzik for trashing the team. Rex got to determine who was on the roster. After the 2009 season he jettisoned several players who had played big roles in their success during that season. He did the same thing following the 2010 season, stripping the team of its veteran leadership. You Rex defenders are totally effing clueless.
I understand your anger, especially after Rex made Todd Bowles and the Jets look like fools last year. Twice.
Ugh, now that you mention it, NO, he almost never got his way and certainly the last 4 seasons there's no way anyone could possibly say he had TALENT to work with? The fact is, Rex got his way in reference to players probably his first 3 seasons, but after that he had no say whatsoever. Tanny also squandered pick after pick in draft after draft. After 2010 season is when the bottom fell out. They lost Damien Woody, Kris Jenkins, Tony Richardson, Braylon Edwards, among others and Tanny had no plan to backfill those spots. He tried drafting Vladimir Ducasse as Woody's eventual replacement and he sucked so bad. He was a complete bust of a 2nd rounder. Other than that, he simply did not have an eye for talent. And please get over the dingbat syndrome. What number he had tattooed on his body is HIS business. If you don't like it? I'll tell you and I'm sure Rex would have said the same... "Shove it up your A$$". What Rex does on his own time is his business. Mind yours. Rex was not perfect his loyalty to Mark Sanchez was a little over the top, I'll admit, but he also did NOT have anyone that was better on the roster, NO ONE. That goes back to that talent issue once again and the GM not doing their job. But once again, SUCCESS speaks much louder than any of this nonsense you are attempting to lecture me with......let me tell what that is........Rex Ryan was 24-14 over his first two seasons. he made the playoffs in both seasons. He brought the defense and running games to numbers 1 rankings in 2009. He won 4 playoff games on the road against top notch QB's. He also had two appearances in AFC Championship games. Meanwhile, Todd Bowles, your personal savior is more than likely going to have a 14-18 record through two seasons, ZERO playoff appearances, but worst of all a complete shambles of a team that plays undisciplined, they don't listen to the coach, they are never motivated, they can never beat a winning team, and they are headed to a lottery pick because they are so bad...........
Oh, so just because Bowles sucks worse than probably any coach in Jets history, does NOT mean Rex should not have been fired? Well, that's not what you were saying back when Bowles got hired. When Bowles got hired you thought along with most Jets fans that he would be such a great HC. Now that you're finding out the complete opposite, you're making excuses. Well, my next question is how long will it take for Jets fans to find another HC that can have the kind of success that Rex did? Now, you can say Rex sucks until you are blue in the face, but my last sentence is something that will likely decades to achieve again. meanwhile, you could have kept Rex, flaws and all, give him the talent he NEEDED to work with and had a likely championship team. Todd Bowles???? FAT chance......
No reason to resort to name calling. Can we both agree that Rex did not have NEARLY the talent his last 2 years that Bowles has right now?
