Article on PFT shows some promising QB options. Would go with Hack and Petty and one of following veterans. Would not draft a QB. The following will either definitely or possibly be available based on contracts etc Tyrod Taylor Jimmy Garoppolo AJ McCarron Landry Jones Blake Bortles Alex Smith Nick Foles Tony Romo Kirk Cousins Jay Cutler Sam Bradford Mike Glennon Carson Palmer
Thanks but.... no thanks However, I'm getting a really bad feeling about Shitz coming back one more year. I have no faith in Macc or Bowles to turn the page and start a true rebuild. They're not on the same page .
The only one I would want the Jets to look at as a long-term solution is Kirk Cousins. As for a bridge QB, perhaps Jay Cutler or Carson Palmer.
Funny you thought that. I was thinking the same thing... They let him walk, go with Petty and Hack, then as expected no other team looks to sign him so the Jets sign him as insurance for the same deal he had in 2015 (3.3 mio) He must know he wont be a starter in this league again, and the only team that even remotely values him is the Jets. So he would be gambling on Petty and Hack getting injured/faltering. Ugh..
Perhaps you're right. Even if that were the case, do you really think Belichek would take a chance on a 34year old QB that's never been to the playoffs in 12 years?
To begin with, I think the Jets need to go with Petty or Hack starting next season, so I'm not in favor or signing any of these FA QB to start. Second, I see no way that Blake Bortles, Alex Smith, Kirk Cousins, Sam Bradford or Carson Palmer will be available. I doubt if Tyrod Taylor would be available as well. I would have some interest in Garoppolo, but would be shocked if the Pats let him go. I have zero interest in Cutler, Romo or Landry Jones. The only two QBs I'd have any interest in are Nick Foles and Mike Glennon, and for both it would have to be understood that they would be competing for the starting job, not handed it, and the offense would have to be changed for Glennon.
Doubt Garapolo and taylor leaves their teams. Meanwhile Washington got to create some cap space to resign Cousins. Regardless if they are available or not you got to rebuild the OL, drafting at least one top end prospect. Build up the front wall, any QBs we have even with Hack or Petty will help them tremendously. The offense begins with Superior front line
The scary thing is the only QBs on that list that I would prefer to have on this team over Geno, have about 0% chance of being available.
