Yeah, concussion prorocol, he's already dinged up (shoulder), plus the short turnaround, and they're not likely to do anything with Tolzein, who hasn't thrown a pass in a game since 2013. What they really need is a freaking O-line.

Was that not the worst National Anthem ever? I hate when it's modified like that. Sing it as written for christs sake. She was moaning into the mic.

Aretha Franklin squealing like a stuck pig.

Someone put her out of her misery.

NFL starts that fiasco 5 minutes after the scheduled start time, and that awful anthem means the game will start 15 minutes late.

They didn't even bother to review the key play at the end where the Lions DB fumbled as his knee was hitting the ground.

Probably the right call, but it was very close, and it's mind boggling they didn't review it.

The Cowboys look like an absolute machine of a team. Mistake free football goes a long way in this league.

It's going to be interesting to see if they can keep this up come playoff time when defenses and coverage tightens up.

I hope that someday, after Goodell is retired/fired/burned at the stake, they kill these bullshit celebration penalties.

You know, I kinda agree with this sentiment. Except, how fucking hard is it for these nitwits to just spike the goddam ball already and leave it at that? What's with the fucking ballet routines? You really tune in to watch some roided up freak roll his hips in a suggestive manner? Is that real football to you?

Agreed, but the freak rolling his hips/doing a riverdance is usually A-OK, but if he bumps fists/high fives his teammate in a "coordinated" manner it's a flag? If they actually cared about some idea of "sportsmanship" it would at least be the other way around. This way makes no damn sense and just calls attention to how stupid the rules are.

right. So just spike the fucking ball and leave it at that. Is that something so difficult to get coached athletes to do? I played organized athletic activities a million years ago and I think this was something our coaches could get us to comply with. Of course, in those days we didn't confuse hip hop with music and tattoos with art so maybe it's harder on coaches these days.

I avoid the Nat'l Anthem at athletic events. It's an anachronism. I usually go get a coffee ... or a beer ...

It is, and they're looking at home field advantage. It's tough to imagine a rookie QB/RB combination going deep in the playoffs though. I wonder how many rookie quarterbacks have actually won playoff games.

The Super Bowl looks pretty set in stone as the Patriots vs. Seattle/Dallas and *maybe* the Giants if Eli turns it on. We should all pray that the Steelers get in so the Pats have some sort of competition in getting there. I can't see Siemien & Denver winning a game in Foxborough or the Chiefs/AFC South winner either. The Raiders don't have a sustained running game so that'd be tough.

    Go Steelers.

    Raiders can do it.

    1. Smart quick decision qb
    2. 2 good receivers that can dominate the Patriots secondary. Cooper is a match up nightmare.
    3. One of the best lines in the league
    4. All Pro Edge Rusher

Murray ain't a bad running back either. They have a lot of explosive players. I could see them winning a high scoring game. Raiders having Mack could make all the difference. He's the type of player that will get 4 or 5 sacks alone.

Gross, can't believe I could actually root for the Raiders.

Very few teams can line up and impose their will on the opposition at the NFL level. The Cowboys have built a team that resembles their old 90s team on the offensive side of the ball, and that's what they are doing right now, imposing their will on the opposition.

I'm gonna have to go with Vilma on this, barring any injuries, it's going to be the Cowboys and the Patriots in the SB.

I won't completely discount the Raiders, I just don't see Carr making enough plays to beat the Pats at home.
