Last year's Overtime win at home against the Patriots feels like a life time ago. It was the last major win of the Fitzpatrick Era. Great win too. Can it happen again Sunday? Well, Decker can't be a part of it. Fitz can, as for some reason, Bowles has given him the starting job back. The Jets D-Line needs to get to Brady, otherwise he will torch the secondary. I think the game plan needs to be SHOOTOUT. Be aggressive. Take Deep Shots to Marshall and Anderson. Go big or go home. Otherwise, the Patriots should win with ease. I am an optimistic guy and I feel that the odds are some game the Jets have to click and play well. Could be Sunday. Thoughts?
Colts and Giants were pretty big too I felt, but the Patriots was clearly the biggest. Some would say Week 2 at Buffalo was big this year, but I say no, as the team is (3-7) right now and winning a game against a .500 Bills team really doesn't mean too much.
Todd Bowles' QB decision is that of a man trying to hold onto his HC job. It's a "this game" decision, which is what his job demands, to be fair. But it's certainly not in the long term interests of the team. While it's true Fitz is less likely to be surprised by what they face, Petty needs to play. Even if the Jets beat NE, they're not going anywhere. Sept 2017 will be here a lot faster than anyone wants to hear about.
It'll be fairly competitive. We are coming off a bye, familiar opponent, they are banged up. It will be just competitive enough for Bowles to faux justify his dumbass decision to start Fitzpatrick and he'll continue to do so as we fans get to enjoy the hamster wheel. Pats 27 Jets 19
Glad Rex isn't our coach anymore, he would be running his mouth in the media, 37-13 Patriots , I will not waste one minute out of my Sunday watching this Shit fest.
Hey, in a season with nothing but low lights, why not some classic Jet inepititude to complement what the team and this CS has accomplished in 2016.
Pats D sucks, they are a paper tiger. Our D-line can apply the kind of pressure on Brady that could make him play poorly. We'll probably lose, but I think it will be close. (or I'm delusional, and it will be 45-3...).
Belicheat is a smart man and knows if the Pats score quick he can take whatever crowd shows up out of the game/ equation. I think the Pats score early and often and the game is not close,,,I can only Imagine what Brady is going to do against this secondary,,,we will see,,,ps for those of you talking about the pressure that the front four will bring , I ask the question "what pressure have they brought besides playing the Bengals and that line of theirs ? "
Brady is going to target Martellus Bennett and Rob Gronkowski a lot on the short routes that don't give our defensive line a lot of time to get after him. I do expect both Bennett and Gronk to be active for Sunday's contest. Those two tight ends will clearly be the biggest problem for the Jets D, not the Pats RB's Blount/Lewis. Jets on offense are going to need to have long clock killing drives to keep the ball out of Brady's hands. Jets on special teams needs to change the game in their favor for a change. The last time the Jets had a return for a touchdown it was week 5 of the 2012 season, Joe McKnight returned one 100 yards for a score vs. the Texans. It's been 69 games since the Jets on special teams have had a return for a touchdown. Our special teams return units need to put up a score and end the drought.
