Thinking of taking kids to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Planning on getting a room in Manhatta the night before. I haven't booked any room yet since I don't know if it will rain or snow. Can you give me an idea of precipation for Thanksgiving morning?

still a long way out brook, but every model run from the gfs has some sort of precip for thanksgiving. the euro, right now has the sytem staying south of us. based on the last 2 years,i would bet the euro track but its a new year so who knows. the latest gfs puts some good snow on us for thanksgiving. not holding my breath though. don't think the temps will get where they need to

this is the latest gfs snow total for nov 25. thats essentially 12-14" falling on thanksgiving day. 8 days out so take it with a grain or 2 but it is interesting none the less

 

Wow. That is big. If it turns out to be 12-14 we are in trouble. Leaves are still on the branches in my town. We might have power loss.

 

it won't happen brook. just a weird model run i think. only posted it because its november and i am dying for snow already lol

white turning wet? gfs has snow early thanksgiving day turning in the afternoon.
now, it had todays event pegged and i totally dismissed it based on how warm it was yesterday. was shocked,shocked! to wake up to covered roads and ground and flakes still falling. so we should pay attention to thursday for sure.

 

F JAY F,,,,,appears too warm to me and,,,weather peeps also say too warm and wet on Turkey Day,,,,still too early to tell ?

 

@CBG , gfs says snow, some mixing but mostly snow with about an inch on thanksgiving. i'm thinking i am buying. low crossing right through the lakes will give it its own cold air and moisture. snowy,not quite white thanksgiving for the tri state i believe

yea, rain if anything. could miss us to the north. albany, binghamton and north of that will get snow, but not a lot.
