It's all Geno's fault. If he'd been good, Fitz wouldn't have been on the field to throw the interceptions.
I really wish people on here would stop making shit up. Yeah I gave probs to Fitz but that still doesn't mean he a good QB. Plus show me where I praise Geno? Is this where I should call people names?
It hasn't been talked about yet and not really noticed by many but for at least the last two games Hack has ended his pre-game warm up with an extensive workout with Brandon Marshall. Not much to look into but at least nice to see Brandon is helping and prepping for next year or maybe a couple games this season because the $12 million beard has destroyed it already.
Do you guys think the Jets are truly holding Hackenberg back from the field to learn? Or do you think he just has not shown anything in practice? With all these Rookie QB's from Wentz, to Kessler, to Dak to now finally Goff this week, clearly rookie QB's are playing in 2016. For the Jets, in their current situation, to not even consider Hack seems like a bad sign. Maybe they are just doing right by him. What do you guys think?
hard to say, Bowles is so friggin tight-lipped I hated the draft pick bc Hack looked so bad last year at Penn State, so it wouldn't shock me if he wasn't showing anything in practice AND the Jets were fooling themselves "with more time to learn, he could be good" (SIGH) mired in mediocrity
I think a young QB has to learn so many things aside from just throwing the ball, that most of them SHOULD sit out at least a year and learn. Plus, Petty is young and has a year under his belt. We have no idea what we have in Petty yet. He looked good in the first half until the playbook handcuffed him. I think he could be really good. Would love to some day have an offensive minded coach. Offense wins in the regular season in this NFL. If I'm a coach, I let Petty use his strong arm and call plays that benefit his skill set. Maybe since the plays were divided all week the plays weren't truly tailored to him.
I think that they said all along that he is a project and that his mechanics are screwed up. What's the point in playing a QB like that? He has almost no chance of succeeding, and because of the crappy accuracy due to the screwed-up mechanics, the Jets couldn't tell anything about whether he might be their QB of the future. If he can get his mechanics fixed, then there'll be plenty of snaps for him and opportunities to show what he can do. Every player is not the same. Just because some other rookie QBs are playing doesn't mean that Hack should be or that something is awfully wrong because he isn't.
Hackenberg is younger than all the QBs listed. He also played for an organization that was completely f'd up. That being said, I boo'd the pick.
Because Jets ... Here is a list of our second rounders since 1996 Alex van Dyke Rick Terry Dorian Boose Randy Thomas LaMont Jordan Jon McGraw Victor Hobson Justin Miller Mike Nugent Kellen Clemens David Harris Vlad Ducasse Stephen Hill Geno Smith Jace Amaro Devin Smith Hack Need I say more !?!
That is truly unfucking real. Thomas and Jordan is the only time we got two players in a row. And post-Harris is just a sick joke.
How do we consistently whiff on these early picks? We're talking many regimes here. It's not easy being a Jets Fan.
Everyone is writing off our second round pick before he even takes on snap on the field? You guys are why this franchise can't have nice things.
