Dude. He's a first ballot Hall of Famer and is in one of the best cover corners to ever play the game. Nnamdi Asomugha had two good years as a zone corner on a god awful defense where teams would rather target Fabian Washington. There's no comparison. Revis sucks now, but he's had an excellent NFL career.
I'm the biggest Fitz fan on this board and even I say don't go back. This team is a joke. This franchise is a mess. It was truly embarrassing to watch today. It's over. The season is done. I am not even sure Bowles deserves the faith of his players or fanbase to get a 3rd year. He will though. The team is pathetic. Petty CLEARLY was not ready to play. He looked awful. People insult Fitz non-stop, but he is without a doubt better than Petty. Having said that, let the kid learn. Can't hurt now. Like I said: It's over. Give Petty the next 3 games to show growth. If he clearly does not: Give Hackenberg a chance the last couple weeks. This has been such a disappointing and embarrassing season. Shame. This is the Jets' Bye Week. It's also the Jets fan's GOODBYE Week. As in see ya in 2017.............

The problems extend far beyond the QB position so it's pointless to trot out a veteran under the guise of "he gives us the best chance to win." Win what? 6 games instead of 4? At some point you have to accept that the team is awful and look towards the future. Sucks for guys like Mangold and Marshall who are heading towards their twilight, but hey, it is what it is. You got stuck on a shit team.
The question is: do you want to go only as best as 7-9 watching a shit QB barely win the games he wins, or possibly (not necessarily) go as bad as 3-13 watching some young guys develop? Unless you are saying we can beat the Cheats.... Ron
There is zero reason for Fitzpatrick to play another game for the Jets unless Petty gets injured. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to give Petty the rest of the season. The Jets have nothing to play for but next year.
To Bowles credit (did I even say that?) he didn't make his usual categorical comment that Fitzpatrick is the qb after the game. He said we will see who starts the next game and that to me means it will be Petty unless he totally screws up in practice before the pats game.
