How do they not simply heave it into the end zone there? Petty is smart enough to go down if it looks like he's gonna get hit.
Playing not to lose here. You expect that with a rookie qb when there's a shot at the playoffs but this team is still 3-6.
Even though they didn't let Petty really play it was about a good as a half as you can expect for a first start. No fumbles, no interceptions, threw a good deep ball. And we haven't even seen him run yet, he was a beast of a runner in college.
The better Petty and Powell play the worse this coaching staff looks for not getting them in the game or getting them the ball earlier this season
Here's the bright side..... Petty has played fairly well..... he had a couple miscues, but overall probably better that most thought possible...... I just hope he doesn't get pulled when shitspatrick is healthy again
Petty missed robbie on a sitter while he was gone but this is his first start. The team is putting him in 3rd and long situations
If you expect perfection out of a rookie making his first start ever you best be ready for a lot of disappointment.
