I'm more concerned with these idiots starting Petty against Belichek.

I've been getting my Sunday chores done.

I even went to the office a few times to catch up on stuff.

Yeah, I can't argue with that. Although Rex got the same criticism in his days. Fans are going to want what fans want. Coaches on losing teams always get criticized no matter what they do. I've heard it go both ways. ESPN went from clamoring for Fitz to be signed, to clamoring for Geno to start, to criticizing Bowles for not starting Geno earlier, to criticizing him for benching Fitz too soon, to clamoring for Fitz again after Geno looked bad. Now they are screaming for Petty and have been talking about the Wilkerson thing for a week straight. If Wilkerson missed meetings an the team was 6-3, people would not be making as big a deal of it like last year, we didn't even hear about it. There's just a microscope on the team right now and drama sells.

According to PFF, Mangold played great prior to the injury. Johnson has been a semi decent replacement, however. Being on the same page as the guy that snaps you the ball is pretty important. It's not an excuse, I just don't want to see Petty make some bad mistakes and either get hit hard or have his confidence shattered in his first game. I think it's a given that he will start against the colts. Mangold had a set back last week and won't be back until Patriots game at the earliest. The oline is in shambles right now, I'm amazed it has held up the way it has.

Its a damn shame I'm reduced to this nonsense because our HC can't admit the season is over and its time to evaluate his personnel. Just f'n ridiculous but if that's what its gonna take to drag his ass kicking and screaming into 2017, so be it.

I tend to agree, but I really am getting sick of this shattered confidence talk. The better quarterbacks in the league are able to shake off bad performances.

I agree with you that it can shatter a quarterback's confidence. It's just annoying that these guys need to be friggain baby'd like so. I think of how Eli persevered through his first shitty ass season with the New York media calling for his neck immediately.

Perhaps we would never have heard about it, but it should have been dealt with last year. I can't imagine any HC worth a damn allowing players to miss meetings or come late more than once.

Yes, drama sells, but if there's no drama, there's nothing to sell. If Bowles had done the job he should have last year in changing the culture, instilling discipline, focus and professionalism, in all likelihood, many of the problems the team has had this year would never have happened. For certain there wouldn't have been all the mental errors, sloppy execution, and the team not showing up and looking unprepared. Bowles has to go the second the season ends, unless he can somehow become a disciplinarian and get the team's attention. In all likelihood, he has lost the team. If one starts out tough and disciplined as a coach or teacher, one can always ease up, but if one starts soft and undisciplined, one can rarely succeed in changing and making things more disciplined and strict. The players/students always rebel, and don't respect the coach/teacher.

Another problem with this is that the tough no personality *supposed* disciplinary only works if the team is having success. These are still young guys and they turn a blind eye to that bullshit if the team isn't winning. That's why win, lose or draw there was never really a question with Rex. He was so rah rah that they were always going to play hard for him because he created a fun work environment for them.

And I'm not advocating to have Rex's style back. I wish we could find a coach that has found a happy medium (like a John Harbaugh or Sean Payton type) and not be one or the other. And I'm talking in strictly coaching personality.

We've went back and forth with the two styles the past 15 years. Herm Edwards was a rah rah guy, Mangini was a hermit, Rex was a rah rah guy, and Bowles seems like he's absolutely dead inside. For once we need to find a balanced personality.

This is what I'm talking about. What fucking fairie tale land does this guy live in? Besides one without cable.

There are so many factors - human factors - that a professional football team is subject to.

Two players missed a meeting and were punished for it. As a fan, I think that is deplorable.

However, as a fan, I have no actual basis in reality to understand it, either.

NCJetsfan, however, has decided how this entire situation happened in his world where he doesn't actually watch games and just decides what the reality of the team is.

He will type 20 paragraphs to convince you of it, and some of the worst posters that have ever registered on this website agree with him.

    Yay.

Where 3-6 and the season is basically over so why aren't they seeing what Petty has? Bowles is committing to go full retard.

Doesn't make any sense at this point, what do u have to lose?

If Bowles does trot FitzTragic out there tomorrow, what do you think the reaction will be on the first 3 and out or the first pick he throws?

Upper management just needs to guarantee these guys their jobs for next year so we can see the kid play. Throw the record out the window and lets evaluate. Back in 04 the Giants were 5-3 and made the switch to Eli. I think they won 1 more game that season, but they knew it was time to see what they had with Eli. If the veterans are going to "quit" then its time for them to go as well. We need to try and build something here.

I'm gonna say silence, since there needs to be a crowd in order to have a reaction.

If Ryan Fitzpatrick throws an interception in a forest, and no one is around to see it, does it make a sound?

If Petty starts, you'd have to think (hope) that Fitz is done for good. If they win, why would you switch back? If they lose, even Bowles can't be delusional enough to think this season is salvagable.
