Yeah Ignoring the fact that our season was very likely over for weeks now, and we should be in evaluate players mode, Fitz has not even justified his spot as starter. Fitz is the worst QB by percentage in the league, so regardless of who is the backup, doesn't that warrant a change at QB for the sole reason that our QB is statistically the worst? I really don't know why Bowles is afraid to make a change. We hear stuff about Petty "not being ready", but we can't do worse than the 32nd QB in the league. I will give it one more loss for him to make a change until I stop watching the season completely.
I don't get the full hate on Chan. If this team were executing the plays, no one would be hating on Chan at all. The receivers are getting open and sure Chan should look to run the ball more, but to say he's the issue is crazy. The issue is the players not executing the plays. Keep Chan and Patullo here. Chan is the last reason why this Jets team is last in the division.
Maybe Bowles made a bet he can make Fitztragic the 4th QB joining Broadway Joe ('66-'68) O'brien ('85-'86) and Sanchez ('10-'11) in team history to throw for over 3,000 yards in consecutive seasons... We suck this season so i needed to take my mind off of that and focus on how much we suck at QB in franchise history. Hahaha
Well, here's two reasons to hate him if you can't think of any..whenever Forte runs well they immediately stop using him like yesterday in the first half..second, Forte is one of the greatest pass catching RBs in NFL history and I would be surprised if they have thrown to him a dozen times all year..Gailey sucks just like Bowles and Maccaghan do. Well, he actually has 21 receptions..I guess if I thought about it 2 a game sound right.
I'm no fitz fan but how did he cost us the game? He threw a TD and our special teams blew it due to a bad call by the refs, and the D couldn't get the ball back.
Powell has the hot hand in terms of receptions out of the backfield. He's the only rb that resembles a home run hitter. I have no issues with the calls, I have an issue with the execution.
After Fitzpatrick returned from his knee injury in the fourth quarter, he drove the Jets down the field to a third-and-8 at the 11-yard line, trailing, 20-16. Fitzpatrick threw a jump ball into the end zone but there was no one there but Dolphins, and Bobby McCain intercepted it. “I have to be on the same page with everybody,” Fitzpatrick said. “It was just a miscommunication.”
He has the hot hand because they don't throw to the guy that made a career of catching them..I have plenty of problems with the play calling.
One of my biggest issues with Chan is that he continually goes shotgun with five wide without a RB on third and short. It doesn't makes sense to makes your intentions known to the defense. The fact that the Jets continue to fail in this setup would lead one to believe that it should be stopped, but Chan continues to run the same setup.
Fitz will start Sunday. Then you split Reps with him and Petty during the BYE Week. Let Fitz get blown out by the Patriots, then start Petty for the final 5. Dress Hack too.
Definitely can't say he cost the Jets the game. He gave them a 23-20 lead, then their moronic Special Teams blew it. Give credit where credit is due. He still sucked and threw 2 INT, but he was not what cost the Jets. Stupid penalties and that kick return did.
So we are just suppose to forget the non TD to Anderson, and another one to Marshall, and the pick into the end zone? These minimum 17 points left on the field just don't matter, right?
Except that's totally false, because they signed Muck Sanchez to an expensive contract extension and trotting him out game after game when it was totally clear to everyone in the world except Junc and a few Jets staffers that he was total dog shit. The billboards and planes were entirely deserved. Rebuilding means getting rid of the guys who suck and taking chances on young, untested players to see if they can thrive. That's exactly what we should be doing now, and anyone who doesn't like it doesn't know football.
Except Tanny gave Sanchez the extension. The planes and billboards were in Idzik's second year. Geno was in his second year of starting with a load of untested players, which was one the (many) reasons we were dog shit. Oh, and Sanchez was already gone.
I don't wish longevity to this MCL sprain for Fitz the man at home, but QB Fitz needs to rest for a few weeks and let Petty go at it.
